To think after a week of possible reaction I should be feeling better?!

I'm apparently having a reaction to the tetracycline I have been prescribed. Hypersensitivity along with severe pain presenting as heartburn.

This pain is awful anyway its from my neck to my back, arms and chest but if I try to eat it is 100 times worse I want to rip myself in 2. Dr gave me Zantac hasn't done a thing.

It's been a week I haven't eaten but have put myself through the drama of keeping up fluid intake. I just think by now someone should have a fucking answer and a super pill to stop this pain!

I can't sleep, can't eat I'm at the end of my rope and have been waiting 2.5 hrs for dr to call me. AIBU to think that my Dr should take this a bit more seriously? I'm very rarely unwell so I'm impatient.

Oh no!

See a different doc or go to a walk in centre. That sounds horrendous!

I would go to the walk in centre or even A and E. Assuming you have stopped the drug surely the side effects should have eased by now?

ImperialBlether · 09/08/2013 16:44

Is there any way you can get to the doctor's now?

I had a similar reaction a few years ago. It was 2 weeks til I started to feel better. I found milk and bananas were very good to keep me going.
