stealing thunder

seeing my oldest friend tomorrow for dinner. ( other girls will be there but i dont know them as well)
Im 13 weeks pregnant and was going to tell her at the dinner. But shes only gone and gotten engaged last week... if i announce pregancy will i be stealing her thunder??
(watched friends earlier and dont want her to be upset like monica )

I wouldn't think so, but there are probably plenty of people who would be a little annoyed.

We announced our second pg at 6 wks to friends at a wedding. At the same wedding we met a new baby for the first time as a new girlfriend of one friend who was 20wks ph at the time. I saw it as joining in the happiness and don't think anyone was bothered. Plus I am terrible at keeping secrets.

I would say you know your friend ad would prob have a goo idea as to how she will react.

I do know my friend... its like no one has ever been engaged before!! She loves to be centre of attention!!

Maybe your friend will only have one engagement. Personally I would make the next time it's just the two of you the time for your announcement, if you can keep the excitement in for that long. If she guesses that's different.

Can you tell everyone towards the end if the night?

Or... Let her have the first hour of the dinner all about her. Then you could tell her.

Unless she guesses, as you are not drinking....

Its supposed to be a drinking night out... so she may well guess unless i get non alcholic cocktails!!
