Hunger site wtf??

I go on the hungersite most days to do those clicks for charity. But today on the literacy site they have a large ad with a young woman rubbing her boobs and advertising 'date a Slavic woman' linked to 'Russian brides. com'

The link is broken - please please tell this is just a shocking way they are spreading an awful trafficking message and they're not actually advertising it??

why not contact them to find out? They are much more likely to know than us!

Who else uses the computer?

Mine gives me ads to do with things I have searched for previously.

BumgrapesofWrath · 04/08/2013 19:20

Yeah, was wondering if it was targeted advertising...

Yonionekanobe · 04/08/2013 19:21

It's likely that they don't control the space but sell it to an advertising company who use your search history to target ads in the way YoutheCat describes. If you're on a widely shared computer, or one that is second hand but wasn't properly refurbished it would explain the ads.

Just my iPhone so noone but me. It's normally advertising related to their charities (jewellery etc)

I've just checked the site and both the top and side adverts are for things I've searched recently. Can iphones get viruses?

mollysmum82 · 04/08/2013 19:54

Maybe iborolass - so pleased its that and not them!
