To think there is something odd about the whole Saatchi / Lawson divorce (apart from the obvious)

Call me a cynic, but I half wonder if this super quick divorce, where Saatchi has represented himself and the details are completely confidential strikes me as the PR move of all PR moves. Swift silent action from both parties, she drifts off to the US, they magically reconcile in a year or two. Completely confidential because no splitting of assets has actually taken place.

Maybe I am being cynical.

If it is for real, good for Nigella leaving that thug. But something doesn't add up here.

Of course, it's nobody's business, but I am idly wondering if anyone is thinking the same.

Don't you think she's been through enough recently without having her divorce proceedings picked apart by the tabloids and pretty much every single online forum there is? I'm not surprised they are keeping silent on the matter and that she's drifted off to the States. Sounds a v sensible approach.

They had a pre-nup, didn't they? And they have agreed not to talk to the press about the divorce or their finances. I don't see what's wrong with that. He's such a pig that I think she'd be glad he wasn't talking about her in the press. Last time he spoke out I'm sure she wished he'd shut up.

I'm glad she left him but I feel no need to salivate over any of the finer detail - I'm glad they've managed to do it quickly and keep the details private. It's no-one's business but theirs. What she has been through, both with him and with the media attention must be beyond awful and I hope she's getting some well earned respite from it all.

I don't see what its got to do with us or the press. The family courts are conducted in private anyway and if they choose to keep their private financial affairs private then good for them.

Yes op I think it's all very odd. The only thing I did think was that he may have made her stfu in exchange for continued media support (in support read not doing anything detrimental to her image)after all he is a very powerful man in the media and has very strong connections with the papers. I can't bear what he has done to her she looked so terrified . If she has any sense she would take him to the cleaners.On behalf of the nation he can stick his unmade bed right up his jaxi.
