to encourage dd2 to show all her school books to GP

She is so proud of all her work (end of yr 1) but sadly my true enthusiam has waned slightly having looked through them at school no less than 5 times during the year and the thought of storing all 10 text books produced every year, not to mention the projects, until she can rediscover them when she sorts out my affairs in 40yrs. FIL has made it through first 3, SIL just one so far. Dd1 and ds haven't shown theirs yet Grin

Go on, let her show until her heart's content.

I did think from your thread title that your dd was going to take her books in to show her GP (as in medical GP at next appt etc). I was ready to type something along the lines of "No you loon, do you really think s/he would be interested?" But then realised you meant grand parents.

I feel your pain. I see it as clutter. I know, mean mummy. My dc have left their books for this year at their grandparents. The books from previous years have been edited, so maths and hand writing books have been recycled. I've kept stories and diaries. Eventually they will go in the loft.

Actually I may take my kids' books to the GP, dentist, gardener, anyone who I can find really to share the burden! They came home this year with 12 EACH. They are in the same class, so the books have the same content just for double agony.

They will be in the recycling by the end of the summer though, we just keep the occasional piece of project work etc and no more.

I also thought you meant medical GP and was intrigued!

RiffyWammal · 26/07/2013 21:52

I thought you meant the doctor too, was imagining she had drawn gory pictures of her murdering her family or something!

They really should be in bed, but they slept on the way here, so still going strong, even BIL has been reluctantly dragged into it. Seeing my parents tomorrow, even more opportunities to show them, and might even leave them there for their extended enjoyment.

For their extended enjoyment is definitely the way to go Grin
