To hate cooking

Used to love it before I fell in love and had 2 children, which are all fussy eaters.

It's a struggle every meal. I hate it.

Me too!!

I have found that I feel better about cooking if I have my husband help out.

Also, meal plan for the week and pick dishes from that. Before I did this I used to get so worked up thinking about what to make to eat. Grrrrr!

VeniVidiVino · 25/07/2013 20:03

YANBU, it's a right PITA!

Mumsyblouse · 25/07/2013 20:03

I also hate it, takes up too much time, holidays are terrible with all that eating and washing up several times a day.

McNewPants2013 · 25/07/2013 20:04

Meal planning sounds good.

I am sick of feeding the food waste bin.

I always try to make double, it means at least the second night is stress free.

YANBU. It's one of the things parenthood has taken from me - I used to love it but cooking for someone who isn't interested and half the time won't eat it is soul-destroying.

I hate it too. I can't be bothered with any of it.

Luckily, my dh loves it.

I love cooking, just not for my DCs! Fussy articles the lot of them! and my cooking really isn't that bad, honestly. It's the unappreciation more than the cooking itself. There is a simple solution. Tell them that you decided to cook spaghetti bolognese for tea tonight (insert whatever dish is relevent), but you knew they wouldn't eat it so you decided to cut the stress/ middleman and not bother! Grin When they decide that they will eat you will start cooking again. wish I could actually do this myself Grin

McNewPants2013 · 25/07/2013 22:13

I glad it's just not me.

Term time it easier as I know they would have had breakfast at home ( easy cereal and fruit juice) then lunch at school then I do sandwiches ect for tea.

It's the hoildays I struggle with because the menus at school are amazing. I have tried copying it but the kids don't like it.

Perhaps it's my cooking as I tend to add alot of flavour.

I hate it too. I don't mind baking but that is because I choose to do it.

My problem is not fussy dcs but a fussy dh. He's awful. He eats everything but is never in the mood for anything! Where possible I make double and ten freeze in individual portions. I love freezer nights!

whois · 25/07/2013 22:45

Make extra and freeze or have for tomorrow's lunch.
Meal plan.
Make easy and simple things you know the DCs will like (must be something!)
