DP does this all the time and I have had enough now. He will "take on" a job I am perfectly capable of doing, in the middle of me doing it and then he will fuck it up because he never listens and then when I have a go at him I get told "I was just trying to be nice."

Today it was my lunch. I put it on, it takes 10 mins but needs stirred halfway, he says go and sit down, I will do it because I am making mine anyway.

Five minutes later he has served it up not fucking cooked and half is stuck to the arse of the pan. I ask why he hasn't left it the ten minutes or stirred it and he just says he was doing something nice. No you weren't, you were off in fucking space land as usual and now you are trying to wriggle out of it.

You should have said ' no darling, I'll finish it but it would be a great help if you could just nip upstairs and change the bedding/ bring down the washing/ clean the bathroom etc .....

Give him something to do that you hate doing! Let's see if he still wants to be 'nice'

Oh god do is the same. It irritates the hell out of me. Even down to silly things...

Due to go out last night to see some friends who haven't seen for ages. I start to wash up he steps in and says to go and sit down. By this point I am half way through and there's only a couple of plates and a pan left. Has taken me all of 3 mins so far.

So I go off to get ds ready. 20 mins later he's still working on it. Takes him 40 mins by which point we are massively late and he's been faffing changing the water after every plate etc.

ITS NOT HELPFULL IF IT TAKES YOU TEN TIMES LONGER TO DO IT!!!!

I know he ,means well sometimes but it drives me insane. Like your example. They take over in the ,middle of something and mess the whole thing up. I've tried to be nice but really.....

I actually take wasting food pretty seriously. Which is probably also part of the issue.
