To think that I would rather sit in a tank of flesh eating crabs than be a 10YO girl again

It just seems so cruel. For 3 years my daughter has had trouble with the same girl. She isn't a nasty girl and they used to be very good friends but she has strops and stops speaking to DD for months at a time. It follows the same pattern every year.

My DD is over this and has had enough but every person my DD has become friends with, the following day this girl is asking them if they want to come for tea and encouraging them not to talk to DD.

The school are aware what is going on but is unable to do anything as it is not "bullying".

My daughter now spends her playtimes alone and is allowed to stay in at lunch.

It breaks my heart. She is due to go in year 6 and has said she will not bother to make new friendships next year.

Please tell me this will end when she goes to senior school.

I don't know what it is with some girls but it seems the minute they get into year 5 they can become utter cows to each other.

My dd had a similar experience to yours. By the time she got to year 6 she had decided to play with the boys as they were much less complicated and bitchy.

And she made a whole new group of friends once she went into year 7 so there is hope.

Aw bless her, it sounds like she can make friends though when this girl is not around, so hopefully when she goes up to secondary school they wont be together anymore and your poor dd will make lots of new friends.
