24 hours after Kate Middleton gave birth?

GoshAnne, you are entirely free to get as worked up about this as you like, I don't see anyone suggesting otherwise.

LeGavrOrf · 23/07/2013 23:01

Oh the fuckers.

Good on the woman not squeezing herself into spanx today and wearing a reasonably fitted dress which shows what a normal woman looks like one day after birth.

Lol at hello being more genteel. They have got Denise thingies wedding on the cover this week Grin

RaspberrySnowCone · 23/07/2013 23:02

Written by idiots. Read by idiots.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin · 23/07/2013 23:05

"Which shows what a normal woman looks like after giving birth".

I wish! Grin

She had a Royal hairdresser do her up before leaving the hospital.

I arrived home with blood in my hair, my trousers on back to front, and my t-shirt covered in dd's green poo.

LeGavrOrf · 23/07/2013 23:09

True! I looked like I had been hit by a tram, I just mean the still looking pregnant tummy.

I took my jeans into hospital with me thinking I would be able to get in them. It was a sobering moment putting that fucking denim pinafore dress back on to go home. Grin (I had my baby in the mid 90s when maternity clothes were truly terrible)

pixwix · 23/07/2013 23:21

Pmsl Ewe

After ds1, I arrived home wearing an old pair of tae kwon do bottoms, with several million sanitary pads in situ, my hair was standing on end, and I still had a cardiac monitoring tab cheekily working its way into my bra (to charmingly meet with the en suite breast pads).

My expression was like jeremy paxman licking a wasp, (stitches) and I swear I had a dab of meconium on my sock?

LeGavrOrf · 23/07/2013 23:22

I bet Kate is not wearing those bastarding paper knickers Mother and Baby told me to buy.

GoodTouchBadTouch · 23/07/2013 23:29

Bet she is juicing as we write. Nothing wrong with that though. Nobody wants to be fat. Hard work though at her age.

Uptheairymountain · 23/07/2013 23:29

YANBU. I'm definitely in the couldn't-care-less camp about KM, but I did manage to feel a bit sorry for her when I saw the magazine's cover.

Why put this pressure on women to lose the remaining weight so fast? TBH, I was back in pre-pregnancy clothes after 2 weeks, but that was probably because I was in such a daze after mismanagement leading to 2l haemorrhage and EMCS that I barely ate. Normal, gradual weight loss would have been far more safe and healthy.

DIddled · 23/07/2013 23:30

This makes me so mad!!! Just been on Hols and was flicking through a mag someone had left behind- Closer or some such shite. Without exception every single item referenced someone's dress size or weight. It actually enraged me!

Kate looked lovely tonight- better than I looked the next day after giving birth! She had a baby tummy of sorts but my God that's completely normal. I'm sure I read some goddamn stupid newspaper that said she had been given some sort of post baby tummy girdle - or someone was recommending it!!

FGS !!!

Having said that I also flicked through Hello which had Katie Hopkins pontificating in it- stupid moose that she is.

I am back to reality now with no chance to flick through anything- probably just as well......

Phew will calm down now.....

LionMonkey · 23/07/2013 23:31

I left hospital in blood stained pjama bottoms and hobbled along like John Wayne due to stitches and very bruised and battered foof etc.

I had a massive tummy for ages, and my DD will be 2 next month and somedays I still look like I'm in the early stages of pregnancy. I don't care about this - I made a human being fgs - but if someone asked me about my weight loss regime at any point (particularly in the early stages) I would have been very unimpressed

YANBU. It's vile.

Crumbledwalnuts · 23/07/2013 23:34

She looked terrific coming out of hospital still seven months pregnant in appearance. And not trying to hide it! I thought that was really good, you rarely see it.

Crumbledwalnuts · 23/07/2013 23:35

But you know, it isn't worth getting worked up about OK magazine, and linking to it.

GoodTouchBadTouch · 23/07/2013 23:35

Well, I luckily happened to snap back in to my pre pregnancy size zero within a day. Didn't mean to - it just happened whilst I was super-preoccupied with all the breast feeding and ordering wooden toys online.

Id rather be a fatty honest

LionMonkey · 23/07/2013 23:39

Crumbledwalnuts I second GoshAnneGorilla's PS response earlier on in the thread

OP posts:
Crumbledwalnuts · 23/07/2013 23:43

yes I read it
I still think it's not worth the bother
is that alright with you?

80sMum · 23/07/2013 23:44

YANBU. I don't understand why people part with good money in exchange for such a rubbishy rag. It cannot be called a magazine, as it has no real content.
I can't abide the modern obsession with 'celebrity.'

MissMarplesBloomers · 23/07/2013 23:48

Thing is there isn't much of her TO lose, he was a big baby & she was all bump.. So she may need to tone up her tum, if she wants, later but FFS weight loss is the least of her worries.

She looked fab.

givemeaboost · 23/07/2013 23:51

why do people read this sort of trash!?

LionMonkey · 23/07/2013 23:52

Of course you can think its not worth the bother Crumbleweeds. But I think it is legitimate to get worked up about an OK cover such as this one or anything else that riles me. Is that ok with YOU?

I think regardless of whether people part cash to buy the magazine, it will be on shelves in many shops which many people will see and I think it is a really depressing message that is being sent to women and girls.

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 23/07/2013 23:53

It's just a trashy magazine.

Who cares?

McNewPants2013 · 23/07/2013 23:58

She looked amazing coming out of the hospital. I hope she just enjoys her baby.

I didn't even notice her putting on much weigh during pregnancy.

MissMarplesBloomers · 24/07/2013 07:58

usual I don't care about the mag I DO care that yet again its media pressure on new mums to be the perfect figure 5minutes after baby arrives.

The sublimal drip feeding of the "perfect body" image is everywhere & it is one of my bugbears!

NancyOsbourne · 24/07/2013 08:05
