I'm in bed reading, DC both asleep, my work is done. DH just came in and said It's supposed to rain tonight what do you want me to do about the washing on the line? FFS I can't believe it but I got out of bed, got dressed and brought the sodding washing in. I'm now back in bed seething, why does he have to be so hopeless?

RiotsNotDiets · 23/07/2013 22:21

Confused why didn't you say "Could you get it in please?"

aldiwhore · 23/07/2013 22:22

YABU.

More fool you!!

momnipotent · 23/07/2013 22:23

Rod for your own back there, OP!

Doodledumdums · 23/07/2013 22:24

I totally get you missmash! Sometimes it would be nice if they just took the initiative themselves and did things without asking or being told!

missmash · 23/07/2013 22:24

I know! I think I might be more pissed off with myself!!! Must be the heat frying my brain. Smile

OP posts:
ImNotBloody14 · 23/07/2013 22:25

why didn't you just say "use your brain" or "do whatever you think is best"

Confused
apostropheuse · 23/07/2013 22:26

Of course he should have known to get it in himself, but he asked you what you wanted HIM to do about it. You should have said...go and get it in.

Not sure why you got out of bed to do it yourself.

Nerfmother · 23/07/2013 22:28

Oh yeah I came in from work and dh whinges he can't get the dc to turn off the tv. In from of them. Switched it off at the wall. Job done.
And he moans that they only jump when I speak. NFW.

FeckOffCup · 23/07/2013 22:28

Why was your washing still out at that time of night, you slattern Wink.

MelanieCheeks · 23/07/2013 22:29

Yeah, why didn't you answer his perfectly reasonable question?

BiscuitDunker · 23/07/2013 22:31

My dh has just got in (walking straight past the washing) and hasn't even mentioned the washing or that its supposed to rain tonight....does that make him more hopeless than your dh?

Why exactly did you get dressed just to get the washing in? I would of either asked dh to get it in or just gone out in my pjs or wrapped a dressing gown round me lol

SlangWhanger · 23/07/2013 22:31

I think you are enabling him in his hopelessness Grin

Sparklingbrook · 23/07/2013 22:32

At least he noticed. DH just shuts the curtains on it and says nothing. Grin

Zipitydooda · 23/07/2013 22:33

Eh? He asked you what he should do? Maybe he could haven worked it out but he wasn't asking you to do it.

StuntGirl · 23/07/2013 22:35

"So bring it in" would have been my response, without even looking up from my book Grin

magimedi · 23/07/2013 22:36

Not another one - Dear Lord I am so sick of reading about these incompetent men (allowed to be so by their OHs).

Tell him to get the fucking washing in.

missmash · 23/07/2013 22:39

I was just so annoyed he wasted energy asking rather than just bringing it in that I did it myself!

I am enabling his hopeless and I have learnt a lesson, also should have brought it in earlier instead of leaving it on the line but its just too hot! Wink

NoComet · 23/07/2013 22:41

DH is pretty good at bringing washing, he's just helped me with a pile now.

Not the foggiest idea about putting away, doesn't know where most of his own clothes go, but good at noticing if it's raining or getting late and bring stuff in.

He's even been known to iron. Not that that happens very often in this house.

WorraLiberty · 23/07/2013 22:41

In the nicest possible way, it sounds as though you're the hopeless one Confused

He basically asked if you wanted him to bring the washing in...and instead of saying 'yes', you got dressed and did it yourself.

Bonkers!

TinaSurrey · 23/07/2013 22:43

No rain forecast that I can see. Although I wish there was as its too muggy!

daisychain01 · 23/07/2013 22:44

Is it really going to rain overnight? Bum! All my washing is still out there.

NorksAreMessy · 23/07/2013 22:45

When this happens chez Norks I say "thank you for noticing, can you bring it in please"
That's how we are in my house, sort of tell each other what we want and are nice about it.

missmash · 23/07/2013 22:46

Thanks Worra, you're right, still not sure why I did it! Shall make an effort to be less bonkers tomorrowSmile

OP posts:
NorksAreMessy · 23/07/2013 22:46

Nope, even that isn't quite right. It is more like "Good spot, Mr Norks, can you bring it in please"

Yes, that's it.
I will now sleep
