I'm in bed reading, DC both asleep, my work is done. DH just came in and said It's supposed to rain tonight what do you want me to do about the washing on the line? FFS I can't believe it but I got out of bed, got dressed and brought the sodding washing in. I'm now back in bed seething, why does he have to be so hopeless?

missmash, my DH is quite capable of the exact same sort of arsey question.

I would just answer 'please bring in my clothes and dc clothes, but leave your own out there...'

You did what?? Would it not have been easier to say, 'Just bring it in,' without looking up from your book.

He doesn't sound particularly hopeless to me. He noticed there was washing on the line, took account of the weather forecast (which presumably you hadn't) and was pointing it out to you. He was asking if you wanted it brought in. He didn't need you to get up with martyred sigh, dress and fetch it yourself now, did he?

Love the ds who posted the washing through the locked door ahhh! :)

Miss, why didn't you just answer? Instead of getting up, getting dressed, traipsing out there, and then moaning about it??

apachepony · 24/07/2013 04:45

Does all sound a bit martyr-ish to me...

Why did he even ask you? Because he knew you'd get up and do it and he didn't want to.

Next time he asks you a question like that, give a straight answer, you only needed to say "bring it in, please" and leave it there.
