DD been in hospital all week so way behind schedule, essay due in on Wednesday.
It says "the aetiology of depression is more heterogeneous in older people. Inheritance has a lower impact in older people. However biochemical changes in the ageing brain and changes in neurodegenerative disorders are of importance."
My sleep deprived brain won't work, have cited but need it to sound more like me like a dummy

Do you mean translate the title for you or reword that sentence or something else? The first bit says that depression in older people is more varied in the way it is expressed and less likely to be due to a history of depression in the family.

The second bit implies that as the brain ages one needs to be aware that the biochemical messaging changes and that, as well as specific disorders, can cause (as a symptom or a consequence) depression.

The final bit says
In these disorders, disturbances of the monoamines are recorded which "evidently reduce the threshold for depression in the elderly; Depression is seen concomitantly with some somatic disorders".
