To think there is a wasp (or maybe several) in the eaves in my room?

Can hear something buzzing but too scared to look.

Heard similar a couple of nights ago but thought it was a fly or mozzie by the window. What do I do ? Call rentokil or similar in case there is a nest ? Am terrified of wasps. DH away for several days so not here to investigate.

Can't sleep and too scared to Google waspy info.

I was going to say it's probably a ghost, but seeing as your DH's away maybe not?

Which would you prefer it to be a wasp or ghost?

Rentokil will be able to get rid of it even if there's a nest there.

But if you thought it was a fly/mossie, that sounds pretty small, surely a nest would be humming? There are plenty of flies/mossies around for them to make the same noise every night.

Put the wasps out of your mind, you're probably thinking worst case scenario because your DH isn't around.

Sorry, I should have edited that bit about ghosts out, I got more sympathetic as my post went on.

If you're concerned that it might be wasps, check your local council's website about pest control - my local council offers a free service for wasp nest treatment, but they don't remove the nest itself .

Luckily I managed to fall asleep before I read your message about ghosts AgentZigzag :). It did sound like just one, but maybe the nest is further away in the roofspace ? I don't know whether there are nocturnal wasps (ghost wasps maybe ?)

Enfyshed that doesn't sound it would be much use !

Wasps only use a nest once. That's probably why.
