I am very self conscious about my weight and today I finally plucked up the courage to wear my new 'size 12' summer dress to dp's family meal for somebody to tell me I look pregnant :( I now feel absolutely awful and she's bigger than me?!?!

I hope whoever said it looked suitably mortified when you said you weren't. If not then they were defo being mean.

A size 12 is hardly big....no need for people.to make personal.comments like that no matter what your size.

Also meant to say that anyone who thinks a size 12 is fat has a screw loose.

Tbh though I've seen some very slinky neat baby bumps about & still struggle with the automatic link between fat & pregnant.

Next time look the person in the eye and say
"No I am not pregnant but I thought you where"
I used that once & it worked a treat.

By the way size 12 isn't large or fat.

I am a size 8-10 and got asked twice in one week if I was pregnant!
Wish I had thought of the "Did you mean to be so rude" but was just devastated so I feel your pain

I know many women that are 10-12 on the waist but that have a protruding lower belly, still.

I am convinced the sag (for me, as I suffer too, although am larger generally) is to do with abs that have not closed together... I found a good link to the Tupler technique if you wanted to try and reclaim a flatter tummy I think here but taking too long to load on phone.

In summary, YANBU to be upset, but being size 12 is possible with body shapes that can 'look' pregnant.
