another leavers party one

So ds had his leavers party last night. Not the prom type but much more down to earth. Good so far.
The invite allowed them to invite a similar aged child. Personally I think it wojld have been nice tohave made it just about the leavers but hey ho.
My point however, if that certain pta members were there with children much younger and older. The younger one fair enough but the older one. He was definately old enough to be left at home.
Aibu to think that this party should be about the year 6 leavers.
Realise I probably am bu and that if I am not happy I should do the work but I have younger children too (including a baby) and a dh who works away.

If PTA members can't bring their other children then they can't help and this sort of thing doesn't go ahead.
Just because you would be happy to leave that child at home doesn't mean that others (or he) would be happy to. I hated being left at home alone right the way up secondary. And if he's older he can probably do something useful too.

He is about 16 years oldi i would say so not exactly young. Maybe he was helping.
