To hope that the bastards who burgled my dads house today are poisoned by the batch of heroin they'll probably buy later?

Just that really. I'm normally v liberal, head tilty, etc but I am really cross. They've taken jewellery belonging to my mum (dead 13 years) and just strewn the contents of our family's life across his rooms. And he doesn't even have any electronics etc which is what they really wanted.

Scrotes.

Sassy, that's horrible. Your poor dad, and poor you as well. Fuckers.

diaimchlo · 17/07/2013 20:16

Sassy please give your Dad a big HUG from me. He will need it and a lot of emotional support from his nearest and dearest.

I can fully empathise, we were burgled whilst we were in bed, they took all electronics and even my children's Christening gifts from a display case. What made it worse for me was a letter about a year later from the Police saying that the person who violated and abused our family space and emotions, had admitted the offence whilst serving a prison sentence for another burglary and to add insult to injury he had admitted it when taken in a police car around the town pointing out the properties he had violated. Their case targets must have been low that month Angry.

I asked if I could go and see him, mainly to let him know in no uncertain terms what I thought of him, only to be told he had been released Angry. From that night I slept downstairs on the sofa for over 12 months with an old style Police truncheon by my side..... i was worried that after the free taxi ride they had given him will have jolted his memory and thought "Oh they will have replaced what I took with their insurance".......

And yes i fully agree with you Sassy

it is one of the worst 'everyday' occurrences there is. May they choke on their drugs.

to all those who are happy to overlook a bit of teenage shoplifting...

redrubyshoes · 17/07/2013 21:49

I don't think they understand (by we I mean the burglars/judges/police understand the sheer trauma that is involved when you are broken into and then find out they have broken into 80 other homes.

The person who ransacked my home got 18 months having a massive backlog of crimes to answer to. I will never get my Grandmother's wedding ring back though and that is what really, really hurts.

hermioneweasley · 17/07/2013 21:54

YANBU. The heroin would be doing everyone a favour

sassytheFIRST · 17/07/2013 21:57

The irony is, my poor old dad is a criminal barrister who spends his working life defending burglars... He said he will work a bit less hard to help the next few burglars who seek his help Wink!

Yanbu, similar low life trash stole my engagement ring and peace of mind. Gangrene is too good for them.
