WIBU to walk around the flat in just my undies in this heat?

AnotherStitchInTime · 16/07/2013 19:35

Like a fool, I decided to roast a chicken in this heat.

We live quite high up in a flat, heat rises, it must be at least 30 degrees in here.

I am pregnant, hot and have a headache.

I want to sit in a cold bath.

Only my family will see...

Why should it matter?

elQuintoConyo · 16/07/2013 19:39

As soon as I get in I'm down to my shreddies and I'm not pregnant just fat
DS is wearing only his nappy indoors, birthday suit when in the garden. Jealous? Me? wish I could run around in the buff and pee in the paddling pool

YouStayClassySanDiego · 16/07/2013 19:45

Go stark bollock naked and enjoy it.

It's your home, do it!

youmeatsix · 16/07/2013 19:46

Of course not.

Why would it matter?

My family does this all the time.

Slavetothechild · 16/07/2013 19:47

I do i flashed my elderly neighbour by accident today !!!! But hey its hot Blush

AnotherStitchInTime · 16/07/2013 20:08

Luckily we are too high up to flash anyone Grin!

Have only been in a thin dress and knickers all day anyway. Not easy to cook in just your undies, hot oil and bare skin not a good combination.

I will strip off.

Have at it. I'm in front of the fan in a pair of boxers and sleep bra!

ameliameerkat · 16/07/2013 20:18

Just don't do what my friend did and lock yourself out of your flat wearing only your undies!! She had to go outside and flag someone down to borrow their phone to call for help!

WaitMonkey · 16/07/2013 21:10

Well I haven't worn any clothes inside the house for a fortnight, so I'm probably not the best person to ask.Smile

murasaki · 16/07/2013 21:14

Last weekend I was wearing cut offs and a bra for most of the time. If the neighbours were offended by the sight through the windows then they a) shouldn't look and b) sod em.

AlpacaPicnic · 16/07/2013 22:19

I was in London at the weekend, sharing a room with DH and two male friends. It was waaaaay too hot to be modest - I've seen everyone in their underwear now!

onehitwonder · 16/07/2013 22:23

Nah - been in my pants and a skimpy nighty for most of the weekend.......eating dinner in the garden..............putting the bins out the front. It's shows less than anyone would see on the beach.

Sallyingforth · 16/07/2013 22:35

I had to dress today for a visitor. As soon as he'd gone I stripped off again. Clothes are just pointless in this weather.

MumofWombat · 17/07/2013 00:58

I've lived in Australia for three summers now - and have been pregnant for two of them. I only ever wore clothes outside the house. And that was with air con on!

kreecherlivesupstairs · 17/07/2013 01:59

Another clothing refuser here. We are on floor 19, the heat definitely rises. I thought it was a myth till I went to a flat on floor 6.
Clothing in the heat is for masochists. DD comes in from school, strips off to her birthday suit then goes and stands in the shower for 5 minutes, doesn't bother to dry herself and feels cooler.
Bugger roasting chicken. doesn't your local supermarket sell ready done ones?

livinginwonderland · 17/07/2013 07:44

We all wear underwear in this flat when it's hot - DP and our male flatmate live in their boxers, I go with shorts and a bikini top. It's too hot to wear anything else!

Sallyingforth · 17/07/2013 09:50

No visitors today so I'm working in the natural state, without clothes. Went out into the garden earlier and exchanged good mornings with the neighbours. I felt sorry for them - they will get so hot later in their clothes.

Aquarius1 · 17/07/2013 10:08

YANBU but if you were planning on walking around on your balcony like the (not un handsome) naked man strutting around on his balcony in the block of flats opposite my office the other week I would say YABU and would politely suggest you not do any such naked /partially naked strutting as it might cause a poor unsuspecting office worker to feel a bit flustered and totally lose their train of thought on a call to a client which could be v embarrassing.

Sallyingforth · 17/07/2013 15:16

Minor victory!
Mr Nextdoor (60-ish, nice guy but a bit reserved) is sitting outside without a shirt, and applying sun cream. He hasn't done that previously, but seeing me in the altogether earlier will hopefully have demonstrated that your skin is nothing to be ashamed of. His Mrs is still covered up though - shame!

TroublesomeEx · 17/07/2013 15:19

I rarely wear clothes in the house if I'm on my own.

If the children are here, I wear as little as possible.

Go for it.

EBearhug · 17/07/2013 16:52

I'm wearing just dress & knickers at work, and less at home. I don't care if the neighbours see. It's hot.
