To not want to see your bottom hanging out of your shorts however perfect it may be

Or this mornings see through skirt with Brazilian knickers Blush.

Alright so I'm a little bit jealous but still is this really a good look?

Wear whatever you want.

I hate the 'dress for the figure you have, not the one you want' thing. With a passion. It really is hating women's bodies, that's all it is. Why shouldn't people of all shapes and sizes wear as little as they want to in this heat? Does it actually offend you? It is it just fun to be bitchy?

I'm a size ten btw with wobbly cellulitey thighs and probably make people want to throw up when they are following me in the street. I care not.

Amazinggg · 16/07/2013 14:26

Fakebook - why is it a 'bad look' ? Confused

What is so offensive about bodies ffs?

squoosh · 16/07/2013 14:30

I don't think it's bitchy to not love the Arse Cheeks Ahoy look.

Obviously people can wear whatever the hell they like, and by the same token people are within their rights to think it looks really, really awful.

Youcanringmybell · 16/07/2013 14:33

Amazingg - I like you Grin

I should be able to wear what I want without the fear of offending anyone.

Chattymummyhere · 16/07/2013 14:42

Some clothes are for the bedroom... Others are for public view...

Arse hanging out of shorts is certainly not a public view look... Although round here all the girls wearing them must have wotsits for parents away...

Chattymummyhere · 16/07/2013 14:43

Anyway not away bloody phone

Fillyjonk75 · 16/07/2013 14:43

One mum at school has a very nice figure and could be quite attractive but I don't think Juicy Couture tracksuits rolled up into shorts are a good look for anyone. Especially not when teamed with greasy platinum blonde hooker hair, gum chewing and a gormless expression.

A bit of cellulite isn't likely to offend anyone, a
amazinggg

Beach only wear worn in the street might though. I would say the same of shirtless men, however fit. Save it for the beach.

Shorts
this
long are fine, shows off your legs and looks smart without your arse hanging out.

Actually my pet hate is long above-knee shorts, I don't think they flatter anyone but are ubiquitous. Below knee/calf length are fine.

Also women (in particular but men do it too with trousers/beer bellies) would do better to wear things that fit them, not two sizes too small. I'm a size 12, I could probably get a size 8 spaghetti strap vest on but unless I was auditioning to be the next big thing in the porn industry I wouldn't wear one. Being able to get something on and something fitting are two different things.

Fakebook · 16/07/2013 14:52

Because I didn't like it. Hmm

Dahlen · 16/07/2013 15:02

People can wear what they like regardless of their figure, but although I quite like the 'daisy dukes' type shorts myself, I have a rule that they have to cover the buttocks, in the same way as I think tops should not flaunt too close to exposing nipples and trousers shouldn't be so low slung that you can see your crack at the back or the top of your mons pubis at the front. I think that's just about public decency TBH. Other than that, if you have a muffin top and want to get it tanned, go for it! Who cares what anyone else thinks?

SilverOldie · 16/07/2013 15:04

I'm excited. Going by *GraduallyGoingInsane's" rules, "...no arse on display in this house until they're all 71" I will eligible to wear tiny hot pants in three years time Grin

Wishfulmakeupping · 16/07/2013 15:06

Yanbu I've said the same thing a few times this week

EhricLovesTeamQhuay · 16/07/2013 15:36

Yanbu I HATE this trend. It's actual buttock in display, walking around the street! Insanity. I posted on here once about a teen girl in the supermarket whose shorts were so small and tight she had arse cheek out and vulva clearly defined. I judged her mum who she was with to be honest. It's just not appropriate especially on young teens.

obviouslyneedsupernanny · 16/07/2013 16:22

Yabu! I feel like I can't wear shorts shorter than mid thigh without getting disapproving looks from other mothers and tbh I'm sick of it, it's hot out and ill wear what I want.

squoosh · 16/07/2013 16:24

You're sick of the looks they're giving you, they're sick of your arse cheeks mooning at them.

That'll be the ying and the yang.

obviouslyneedsupernanny · 16/07/2013 16:30

No I think they're just jealous as they are overweight and it makes them feel better to give a look.

Bitchy but true

EhricLovesTeamQhuay · 16/07/2013 16:32
Shock Jealous? No. I just feel very uncomfortable when I can see a woman's buttocks. I don't like it. It's nasty.
Whothefuckfarted · 16/07/2013 16:33

YABU, anyone should be able to wear whatever they like, whatever the weather.

Don't like it? Don't look.

squoosh · 16/07/2013 16:35

I'm all for people expressing themselves through clothes, all for it. More people should be a Lady Gaga/Helena Bonham Carter/Barbara Cartland mash up. Brilliant.

But seeing people's arse cheeks when I'm not on a beach or not about to have sex with them? No thanks.

obviouslyneedsupernanny · 16/07/2013 16:38

Oh well. You can judge all you want squoosh but I'm sure most people won't care, may need to invest in some darker shades so you don't have to see it.

redrubyshoes · 16/07/2013 16:40

May I remind you all of the quote from the Bible;

Thou shall not covet they neighbour's ass.

Wink
redrubyshoes · 16/07/2013 16:41

should by 'thy' neighbour's ass!

Dagnamit!

squoosh · 16/07/2013 16:43

Who knew that shorts that stop above the arse cheek keep you so much cooler in comparison to shorts that stop just under the cheek!

phantomnamechanger · 16/07/2013 16:45

LOL ruby

D0oinMeCleanin · 16/07/2013 16:54

Oh, god, I hate threads like this.

Last time I was on holiday and playing with my children in the pool I overheard a lady say to her DIL "I can't understand why young women let themselves get like that big, can she not see how awful she looks?" when I looked over she was staring at me with a a look of pity Blush

Those words still sting. Even more so now it's coming up to another holiday and I'll have no choice but to either to sweat to death or expose my body.

I bought maxi dresses for on an evening to try and cover up while staying cool and denim shorts with loose tops for over my cosy during the day. Today I had on dark denim shorts and a white vest top.

It seems I can't do anything right wrt clothes.

I've been working my arse off (literally) to get into shape/feel better about myself, while trying to convince myself that no-one really will be looking at me, apart from sad, old women like the one last year. Threads like this make me realise there are a lot more women like that one than I'd like to believe.

After the maxi dress thread I am dreading my holiday, even more so now I know that shorts are wrong too. I bought short ones because it is all I could find.

I may just go out and buy a few tents? Would anyone be offended by that?

If you don't like it can't you just turn away? Why all the nastiness?

TiggyD · 16/07/2013 16:58

YABU for not wanting to see my bottom. It's a lovely bottom. It may not score hugely for quality, but more than makes up for it in quantity.
