To expect a little better from a popular children's toy company and to ask you what you would expect as an outcome.

We bought our little girl one of those Smart Trikes after hearing so many glowing reviews. When we assembled it at the weekend, the handlebar section would clip into the wheel section, but when we clipped on the safety frame for around the seat and handlebars so l.o can jump out, the handlebar section kept unclipping from the wheel section. We didn't feel it was very safe so kept trying to re-clip it all following the paper instructions and a video on their website, to no avail.

So I messaged them explaining the problem, sent pictures of the problem part and they messaged back with a link to the same assembly video we found on their site. So I've messaged them again saying we've followed that several times etc and had no reply back yet.

AIBU to think these should be better designed/ tested before selling, considering they're so popular? Also what would you expect as a resolution? My o.h has jokingly said he wants a new one sent to us, fully assembled and working with postage paid for the return of the fault one! Somehow I'm a little less optimistic!

Why not take it back to where you got it from and ask them for a replacement or to set it up for you?

DS loved his smart trike and it still gets used now 3 years later.

TBH ds2 got a smart trike for his xmas last year and i think for the money is is quite poor quality. We got the more expensive model that came with a raincover and when we were puttin it together i did think some of the bits were flimsy. Basket at the back keeps falling off, the clip bit at the back attached to the handle is cracked and the steering is a joke. If i knew then what i know now we would have just went for the cheapest model.
