I love my mooncup. But a few years ago I had the coil fitted and promptly got pregnant. Is it possible the suction nature of the mooncup did this?

Didn't you ask your doctor at the time?

ArabellaBeaumaris · 13/07/2013 21:08

Most likely time for the coil to fall out is during your first period after insertion. Is that what happened?

Indith · 13/07/2013 21:09

I think they can yes if you're not really careful to break the vacuum properly when you take it out. I got a coil once, got period and coil came out along with my cup one day.

He said he wouldn't know as there is no research about it

But if it didn't fall out surely it wasn't dislodged? Isn't it either in the womb or out of it?!

Indith · 14/07/2013 09:52

No it didn't hurt at all.

They can move around and not fall out. They can do that whatever though, may not be moon cup related. Just as they can fall out without using a mooncup. And they can fail even when perfectly in place so it might have been in place when you got pregnant.
