I can't bear it anymore! I'm sick of being sweaty and sticky and grumpy! How do any of you in permanently hot countries cope?!

I've been remembering lots of far flung errands I need to do just so I can spend time in the car with the air con on full.
Can't wait for it all to be over.

I think it is going to rain here so might clear the air a bit

I saw an old woman in town earlier we shared the lift she looked very glam in her trousers suit and sun hat and not a bit of sweat on her I was a sweaty mess with hair all over the place Envy

I sweat like anything, but I am still loving this weather.

I woukdn't say "hotter the better" though - anything over 30C is too much for me. Fortunately, this is fine. Grin

I like rain. I like wearing boots and hats and scarves. I like drinking tea and eating crumpets on chilly afternoons. I like being able to leave the house without having to cover myself in sunscreen. I like it when my make up doesn't sweat straight off my face.
This is the most miserable time of the year for me. Sad

Am I in a weird little bubble or something? It's not even hot. I just put on a blanket because my house is cold. Has the country gone mad?!

I'm in the Southeast. Everyone local to me are pressing their fans to their faces. I do not get it.

Am loving it, sorry.
More weeks like this one please.

Have got fed up with hardly any sun in recent years. Plan on when we get to retirement to move to somewhere sunnier, in case the next few decades are short on sunshine.

Agree that a permanently hot country may be a little over the top. Ask them over on the living overseas board how they cope or manage.

I love it. Tbf, I spent the majority of the day in the car with the air con on, so didn't feel the heat, but we just spent the evening in the garden with the paddling pool and the children loved it. The only downside is that my feet feel like they're on fire and are slightly swollen, thanks to heat and pregnancy.

I'd normally be joining you in lighthearted whinging but, for once, I am loving this heat. Two young DC (3.8yr & 13mth) means it has been too hot for them to be outside in the middle of the day so we've completely adjusted what we're doing and having a great time. Straight to the park when we get up (around 7.30) & have picnic breakfast and a long play there and then head home around 10.30 & have a shower. Then stay indoors again until 3ish before we go outside & spend the afternoon in the paddling pool.
I've realised that getting up & going out immediately seems to keep my two on a more even keel that being at home until 9.30ish as we usually do. DC1 isn't constantly asking what are we doing & when are we going and DC2 is more tired for his morning nap. And we're home for his nap so he's sleeping better and I get time with DC1.

Honestly it isn't the heat for me. I've been on holiday to drier climates that were far hotter than this and didn't find myself sweating so much I genuinely briefly wondered if I were actually a snowman.

that sounds good Murdette, as I am not in the least bit lighthearted about hating this heat, it's insufferable. About 21 is my maximum, warm enough to ditch your cardy, but not so hot that you drip with sweat or have to take any more clothes off. Autumn is my favourite season.

I'm on the south coast, it has been pleasant but not roasting here today.

Unfortunately I came up with the idea of going inland for a walk around a reservoir. Temperature was nearer 30 c 20 miles inland and we had to turn back, it was so hot! Poor dses were melting!

The only way of surviving this heat is to adopt a similar lifestyle to living in a hot country, unfortunately we have absolutely none of the flexibility or facilities to be able to do this. So we suffer through it and give a sigh of relief when autumn arrives.

30+3 with DC2. Dd is only 14mos and into everything. We're in London and I was fine until last night when the humidity hit. Now I'm miserable. I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight.

My 'D'Sis was sending me pics of her jumping into the sea in Dublin today. I am VERY tempted to head home for 10 weeks and have this baby there!!

I have just realised that we are going to have to drive for around an hour through London in the heat of the day in an unairconditioned car tomorrow. I am so not happy.

DH has just told me that he's glad he's never gone travelling with me. I really can't cope in this heat at all.

I absolutely detest this sort of heat. My ideal weather is 22 degrees and sunny but we get about three days like that a year. It's almost midnight and it's still 29 degrees in my flat. I'm going to buy another couple of fans tomorrow.

Temperatures like this are only bearable in countries that are used to it and so have air conditioning. I'd much rather have minus 30 temperatures than plus 30 because we're in a country that is set up for the cold. It's colder in Ibiza than it is here at the moment but if I was in Ibiza then I'd have aircon and I'd be much happier.

Kirjava I'm with you on this one. It's not that hot. I'm south coast and it's pleasant. I want this weather to continue for months and months. I spent too many months moaning about the bitter winter and the miserable spring to be churlish about a bit of warm weather!

Love it. It had better continue into the school holidays!
