AIBU to want to report this stinky woman?

It is boiling here, and I have just spent my fourth afternoon with all the back doors and windows shut.

We can't go into our back garden.

I can't hang washing on the line without having to rewash it to get the stink out.

I can't take my baby out to sit on the grass and play.

Why?

Because the woman who moved into the rented house next door smokes the strongest, most potent skunk known to man!

I'm sick of it, and due to the tirade of foul abuse we had when she moved in she doesn't strike me as the sort of woman I can just go and have a chat with.

AIBU to want to report her to someone, anyone? Hell I know the police probably will not give a shit, and her kids are clean and looked after (looks like they are) so I don't think ss will care either.

So how do I stop her?

Short of hosing her down every time she sidles out of her backdoor and starting a neighbour war?

We had students smoking pot outside our flat, Glasgow city centre, we reported them to the police so did other neighbours, police did care and turned up and arrested them. All the boys got cautions and never smoked pot in the communal areas again.

They did move out at the end of their contract

I would report it to your local police station

just tell her the police came round to you looking for skunk and you don't wanna be rude but um you can smell it on you and well maybe you should keep it on the downlow for a few weeks..

That would be brilliant, anything that would make it stop!

How would I find out who the landlord is? I've never met the owners of the house, the for rent sign was up when we moved in.

And Eagle she doesn't work, so it's pretty much a constant barrage from 11am to bedtime Sad

looking I have just discovered the down side to the break from the pot heads. We have the sweet sweet smell of piles of dog crap in another neighbour's garden floating in now instead. Hmm

Go out in your garden anyway. I doubt very much if a few wafts of smoke dispersed in the fresh air are going to affect you at all. I think you are overreacting.

Surely you just shut the door and windows for 10 mins while she's actually smoking, and then open them again afterwards?

Do you cope Ok with BBQ smoke and strong, spicy cooking smells?

My next door neighbour occasionally cooks something so vile, we literally have to close the door and windows for an hour around dinner time.

Hmm she might be growing it I suppose but the smell is overbearing when she has just had one so not sure.

Electric it's not the health risk that's bothering me. Its the god awful stench that sticks to my washing/ clothes/ hair etc. I'm really not exaggerating, it is very potent!

Eagle Grin haha give me the stench of dog crap anyday! (Although I probably wouldn't say that if I could smell it!)

worra and old this isn't quite the same as ciggie smoke or BBQ etc. This stuffs bloody lingers. My neighbours have been out for hours yet DD's room often smells as if they've been smoking just then in there (I'm pretty sure its not DD too, as shes only 2.5)

Worral it's not for ten minutes. She smokes them like fags, is in and out practically all day!

And yep love bbq smells...people don't look at me funny if my baby girls clothes smell of sausage Wink

Yep Eagle, it seems really strong after she has just had one, then lingers for a while until she has another one to top it up again.

Yanbu, it's illegal (presumably not medicinal at any rate, though you never know) so it's well within your rights to report it to the police. I'm not anti-weed actually, but I wouldn't like it 'flavouring' my washing.

My neighbor does the same all weekend, but thankfully she's 3 doors down so its not too bad. If it was right next door I'd be v pissed off.
