I got an unexpected ta rebate [4 figures] last week.I was going to save it all but..
I paid the house insurance in one go instead of monthly
I paid the deposit for our party later this year
I bought a flight to visit my son later this year
I bought dh some hobby stuff he has been wanting
There is £200 left and I think I'll change that to euros as we are going on holiday soon.
I do feel a bit bad because it would have been nice to see it in the savings account but it was a relief to pay outright for the other things and to treat my very lovely dh to his model Trains!
What would you have done? {just over £1000}

You haven't blown it at all, you have spent it very sensibly! Really, you have got some major items out oftthe way and treated your DH. How about a treat for yourself with the rest? The fact that you haven't got much left is just cost of living increasing, sadly.

I got a lump sum of just over a thousand pounds last week, so far I've paid off my credit card and I should really put the rest away for Xmas this year......instead it's going towards our holiday spending money Smile

I thought you'd put it all on black, now that's blowing it!

You were sensible and generous at the same time. Well done.

I got £325. I have put it in my deposit account and am calling it my firsts myths rent when I start uni on September!

Thanks I'm glad you don't think IABU :)
I can't think of a treat for me so maybe that last 200 can go into savings and we'll just use the current account for our holiday money.We will only be away for 6 days including travel time.Breakfast and dinner are included so we shouldn't need much in the way of spends.We are taking a Treyn holiday to the Dordogne so very excited :)
