AIBU to be a bit annyoed with ebay seller?

I'm going to a caravan for the weekend. It has a basic tv with just a scart so I bought 3 adapters that would connect my tablet to the tv to watch films. This was Monday. I received them all yesterday and one is the wrong size. Completely my fault

I went on Ebay last night to find one that would fit. I normally go for free p&p but need it for Friday so I looked around for express delivery.

The original item was £2.50 with free p&p, the new one is £12 with £6.75 (£18.75 altogether) for before 1pm next day with RM with a different seller. So a lot more expensive but I want it for Friday.

I paid yesterday evening and have checked my ebay and the delivery date is for Monday. I spoke to my postie dad who said that if he hasn't given it to the post office before 10 this morning I won't get it tomorrow! Angry

I know the seller may have dispatched it and not updated ebay but I have a niggle that they haven't. And I know I should have checked the sizing on the orignal I bought. AIBU to be annoyed that I may not get it until Monday?

YABU, lots of ebayers have jobs/families and only update their status in the evening. Hold fire and curb your enthusiasm.

Arrgh I knew I was being a bit UR, I sent a polite message that they haven't replied to. Mybe they will update later. Grin

Sounds but I paid ove half the price of the item on delivery so I want it nooooow Sad Blush

Depends, what time did you purchase the item? Was it before 7 PM? If not, YABU, because the post doesn't go out after 7, so it would be impossible for him to send it next day.

You have paid for next day delivery that is what you should expect. I would be contacting the seller and asking for a reduction in mailing costs.

Why on earth would you buy something from ebay that you need urgently?

reggie I bought it Wednesday evening to be dispatched Thursday and deliver before 1 on Friday. The delivery date is showing Monday even though I paid Wednesday evening.

The delivery date is not accurate. If you bought it on Wednesday with next day delivery and you don't get it by Friday then you should ask for the delivery price back.

Did it not say what type of next day delivery it was? Like Special Delivery. Ask them for a tracking number

The delivery info said TM (1pm). I haven't received any contacr since the payment Ebay and Paypal emails last night.

Ah, got it. Then yes, I'd be contacting the seller (again) if you don't receive anything tomorrow...

If I don't receive it by tomorrow it probably won't be needed again. I don't like nagging but I never pay for P&P the one time I do it doesn't seem to happen

did you check whether their dispatch time was same day or 1 day

if paid wednesday evening thursday would count as same day dispatch most people have a cut off for same day dispatch of between 11am-2pm later than that counts as next day

I think paid wednesday evening same day dispatch would mean posted Thursday 1 day dispatch time would be friday as after 5pm on a business day effectively is the next day

even if taken to post office on Thursday depending where they are it might not be picked up till friday so delivery monday is probably within ebay terms tuesday would not be

I sent them a message saying

" Hiya,just wondering if you have dispatched this yet? I've paid for 1pm delivery as I need the item for tomorrow thanks x" at 6pm last night

they replied

" Hi, We would ship it in hours. It should reach you tomorrow.

Regards" Today at just after midnight Angry

Ask for a refund of the postage costs. if you bought next day delivery and paid on Wednesday (doesnt matter at what time) the item MUST arrive by Friday. You paid a lot for postage.

It all depends what dispatch time was stated on the listing.
When I sell I usually set a 3 day dispatch time no matter what postage method is chosen. I do usually post thing faster, but sometimes things come up that can delay.
While I was in labour in hospital I sent DH home to send a parcel for me so it would go over the dispatch time.

the dispatch time on listing does matter it even shows on listing estimated delivery friday 12th - monday 15th july
