OH came home earlier, following a tough couple of days I was teary. He coulda done better on the comforting front tbh but I probably expect too much.

He's hinted he's hoping for some loving tonight. I wasn't apposed to this. .im tired but ya know. .might help me chill.

DS has been a nightmare at bedtime, hes 3 and has spent the past week up till ten pm..hot..bothered..bombing about.
OH says we need to get DS off at decent time to enjoy an evening etc.
Ive just told OH that DS is his, im getting a bath. Expecting him to start bedtime.

They are sat on sofa listening to RAP (eurgh, im sure OH thinks hes much cooler than he is.) music, fairly loudly. ..and have just heard him share some CHOCOLATE with him.

is he completely stupid. This does not equate to a early night for an already excitable toddler.

AIBU to stay in the bath till I prune and refuse to help wrestle toddler into bed when the sugar rush hits and OH has decided its actually bedtime?

What a divvy.

trikken · 10/07/2013 18:51

Yanbu at all! Dh has done similar in the past. Its sooooo not on. Why cant they just get on with the bedtime routine?

NicknameIncomplete · 10/07/2013 18:52

Enjoy your lonnnnngggg soak in the bath. Hope he has fun with a overtired, hot, hyper child Grin

Patosshades · 10/07/2013 18:52

YANBU, in fact if you can sneak out of the bath to grab a book and some supplies Wine all the better!

I can't wait to hear his technique for getting a chocolate fueled toddler into bed on a hot muggy evening like this Grin

glad you're all in agreement. Honestly, I love this place.

Needless to say DC is now screaming for me since OH is making another pitiful attempt at getting him to sleep. ....still listening to that shite. I'd chuckle if the combination of noises wasn't disrupting my bath so much.

I have a book...unfortunately its poop so im trawling aibu for a tickle. There have been some corckers recently.

I'm sure there was a time I found his simple ways cute. Now it feels like an irritating lack of common sense!

I need wine.

YANBU. Let him deal with it.

My DH at least knows not to break out the chocolate but will invariably start the DCs watching a film or a long episode of something they like on TV half an hour before bedtime. Twunt.

trackies · 10/07/2013 18:56

YANBU. I do this with DH when he decides to do something that is clearly unhelpful. Let him deal with the consequences and you stay in bath
