I'm sat in my garden and can smell everyone else's BBQ

but we (me and dh) did not consider it today at all, we don't own a BBQ as dh doesn't like doing them and I don't like cooking meat - I'm a veggie

don't even know what's for dinner today, DC will probably have beans on toast as its too hot for real food

get a disposable one

superbagpuss · 07/07/2013 14:57

I thought about that - probably none left in supermarkets

we failed at planning

YABU. Barbecued food never lives up to expectations, and the hassle involved completely cancels out the enjoyment.

superbagpuss · 07/07/2013 15:02

shatners thanks - I guess that's what I needed to hear Smile.

You don't eat meat and DH doesn't like barbecues? Why do you want one then? You can still cook indoors and eat it outside you know. That's what I do anyway because I can't stand the smell of barbecued food - all that smoke. Yuk.

They are a faff!

We've spent a couple of hours in the garden, in for baby's nap and the tennis and having a garden picnic for tea

superbagpuss · 07/07/2013 15:08

I knew I was being unreasonable, glad I checked before dh found out Grin.

so beans on toast for DC

any ideas for me and dh?

Nice green salad, coleslaw, grilled fish, eat outside with a nice glass of something chilled!

Fakebook · 07/07/2013 15:17

Why don't you grill some food? Make some vege burger type things with some potatoes and chopped vegetables, and put chicken in the meat ones. Make a potato salad and some coleslaw. Eat outside.

Labro · 07/07/2013 15:18

Either that or beans on toast made grown up with some worcester sauce and cheese!

thistlelicker · 07/07/2013 15:20

Greek salad for us for tea with tequila lager no BBQ for us as just us two

NettoSuperstar · 07/07/2013 15:49

I'm making deep fried mac and cheese, as seen on Sunday Brunch and I'm serving it in ham cups.
Don't have a garden so no barbecue here.

Pascha · 07/07/2013 16:03

Pizza and salad. Thats what we're having later.

superbagpuss · 07/07/2013 17:14

dh just came home after taking DC to park

I hadn't spoken to him at all about feeling like a BBQ

he says, why don't I do ribs for me and DC and you can have veggie thing, like a BBQ

I knew there was a reason I married him Grin
