Just that. I have a two teenagers, a grumpy husband and a VERY fast car.

I have an outrageously grumpy husband and a tantrumming toddler

KatOD · 04/07/2013 22:50

Do you want me to drag him along in a skateboard convoy? It's the least I could do.

edam · 04/07/2013 22:50

Fave Tracy fact: she used to be Alice Walker's partner. The Color Purple Alice Walker.

Wuldric · 04/07/2013 22:53

Brilliant fact, Edam :)

We will need lots of Tracy for the cars and some reading material for when we get to our destinations, so that's now sorted. And lots of champagne so that land rover will come in vair handy

Ok, so the Land Rover has a roof box and a tow bar. I'm thinking we need a horse box to hold the champers? Any one? I've been entertaining all day, they suspect nothing, mwuh huh ha!

Wuldric · 04/07/2013 23:29

There is a slight problem with this, in that I have no horse box

I know, we could STEAL one. That's what we'll do.

Should we leave notes or just abscond? I'm in favour of the latter particularly as we are going to be criminals.

My Volvo would be excellent for transporting the champers. I might need to start out a day early to be there on time, but be there i would. My car is nothing if not reliable.

littlewhitebag · 04/07/2013 23:33

I can't be a crim though. I work with the police, they would be a tad unhappy with me.

Snoot · 04/07/2013 23:44

Hmm, perhaps we could build one? Well fit a fair amount in the roof box and the Volvo regardless. Restock often, look out for horse fairs?

littlewhitebag · 04/07/2013 23:50

Can i hire a driver to take my Volvo full of champers to our eventual destination? Where are we actually going btw? South of France? Monaco?

I want to be in a FAST car. With sunglasses and a head scarf and red pouty lips.

Snoot · 04/07/2013 23:57

Perhaps we should start off in Champagne to pick up essentials and then head south?

Wuldric · 04/07/2013 23:58

You're in.

Your ensemble sounds just the ticket.

Clearly we all need some sun right now. I've gone off the idea of those colder cities like Prague and Budapest and stuff.

How about we head off to Barcelona? Then drive along the South Coast of France, taking in St Tropez and Nice and Monaco and finish up in Rome.

With a convoy of MNers and a horsebox full of champagne. We will need to replenish the horsebox several times of course.

It would be nice to be pursued by the police but I understand the urge not to be a criminal

littlewhitebag · 04/07/2013 23:59

Sounds like a PLAN. Give me fair warning as i need to travel from Scotland.

littlewhitebag · 05/07/2013 00:00

I would love to go to Barcelona I have never been.

Toadinthehole · 05/07/2013 00:02

Please may I have your car. I can give you a Toyota Camry in exchange.

Wuldric · 05/07/2013 00:05

Champagne is actually on the way to Barcelona

Champagne is gorgeous. I know this luffly little place with vineyards all around so we can stock and restock.

But Barcelona, my oh my. I am salivating somewhat indecently at the thought.

OP posts:
Snoot · 05/07/2013 00:09

I think we need a roll call, convoy-wise. I'm ready with the Land Rover (rather be in a convertible but recognise the need for champers-space). Could we steal a lorry? I'm not sure my automatic-only licence will enable md to drive one but we could fill it with booze and MNers.

garlicnutty · 05/07/2013 00:26

Ooh, Wuldric, that place is gorgeous!

Thought you might enjoy this :)

Wuldric · 05/07/2013 00:55

I did indeed love that picture :)

Did you reverse swiftly?

OP posts:
garlicnutty · 05/07/2013 01:11

We'd already 'done' the Champagne Grin

Wuldric · 05/07/2013 01:27

Here, have some

Bless all the MN Roadsters. My car keys are jangling with impatience.

I want a ticket to anywhere
Maybe we make a deal
Maybe together we can get somewhere
Anyplace is better
Starting from zero got nothing to lose
Maybe we'll make something
Me, myself I got nothing to prove

Sorry Beaver you're talking bollocks. I'm fully aware of the differences between the E85 Z4 and the E89 which followed. The 0-62 times for the E85 range from 5 seconds for the M to 8.9 for the 2.0. All my figures are direct from BMW, yours are wrong. Perhaps in future if you're going to be a pendant it would be best to check your facts before you argue with a subject matter expert.

Pantah630 · 05/07/2013 10:21

Looks like me and earthworms are going for a blat, we'll see you there 😸

I'm intrigued to see Beaver as a pendant AKA Grin must agree though, if you're going to be pedantic use stats from the manufacturer or other reliable not random boy racers websites source. Before his Z4 and X6 my brother had taste, aimed at the x6 not the z, and very deep pockets, he had a supercharged Range Rover, my that thing had grunt and stuck to the road like glue. Could carry plenty of fizz and nibbles too. Such a shame you could I did Blush use a tank of fuel in a 30 mile trip.

AKAK81 · 05/07/2013 13:26

The X6 is something of an odd one. Its a nice car with an image problem but I have no idea why anyone would buy one over an X5. Its like they're creating a niche which doesn't exist. Seems to have sold reasonably well though but I wonder how may sales its stolen from the X5?

littlewhitebag · 05/07/2013 14:43

Who cares about the techno-shit! We are going on a road trip somewhere sunny involving champagne. Lets get moving. Grin
