Laughing at the poster who thinks an Astra SRi is a fast car. So OP what car is it? I can't see any reference further up the thread.

AKAK81 · 04/07/2013 10:03

Found the link now! I like the Z4. Which engine is it?

BabyMakesMyEyesGoSleepy · 04/07/2013 10:04

I have a moody teen, whiny tired children and a hyper toddler.

I also have bus fare. Sad Confused

AKAK81 · 04/07/2013 10:47

And Beaver if you're going to be pedantic then at least be correct. The slowest in the range does 0-62 in 7.9 seconds which is bloody slow. The fastest is 4.8.

Pantah630 · 04/07/2013 14:27

Lol 4.8secs isn't fast, 3.0 on my bike Grin

My brother has a bright yellow z4, Ito doesn't hang about but still gets stuck in the a4/m4 escape from London traffic......I don't ;)

garlicnutty · 04/07/2013 14:52

Be reasonable, Pantah, I can hardly perch charmingly on the back of your bike with a fag in one hand and champers in the other, can I? Well, not while it's moving anyway.

AKAK81 · 04/07/2013 16:40

Exactly Pantah. Its pretty quick for a road car but I still wouldn't class it as VERY fast. A VERY fast road car will do it in less than 3.

ENormaSnob · 04/07/2013 17:01

I have a shit car Sad

Doesnt quite have the same ring to it Grin

It keeps me dry, makes it to the trafford centre and has cubby holes in the back

Beaverfeaver · 04/07/2013 17:41

AKAK81 - my info is from here www.zeroto60times.com/BMW-Bimmer-0-60-mph-Times.html

The 0-60 times vary for the old and new shape. Op's is the new shape.

The fastest 'M' version isn't out yet.

lustybusty · 04/07/2013 17:49

Oooh, can I come too? I have a one of tgese. May not be "fast", but it has 4 seats - more room for smoking and champers!! Grin

Pantah630 · 04/07/2013 19:32

Oh garlic you could wouldn't be there for long though I can attest that helmet hair is akin to convertible hair without a scarf so probably not the best way to waft Grin

Fenton · 04/07/2013 19:41

This is my car , well not the actual one but just like it, same year.

It is NOT fast.

so there

WMittens · 04/07/2013 20:53

Beaverfeaver

The 3.2 s drive does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.

The slowest if the z4's is still 0-60 in 6 seconds, which will beat and 'hot hatch'.

(Yes, i am pedantic about these things)

For pedantry's sake, there is no 3.2 sDrive - the old Z4M used the E46 M3's 3.2, but the sDrive 35 is a 3 litre turbo.

I assume you meant to say 0-60 in 6s will beat any hot hatch - the Focus RS500 will do 5.2s and the Ipreza 330S will do 4.7.

WMittens · 04/07/2013 20:53

*Impreza

Pantah630 · 04/07/2013 21:36

If I have to drive a car fenton I'd rather have yours :)

Wuldric · 04/07/2013 22:04

I'm not bothered about the 0-60 stuff - particularly as we are engaging a chauffeur for the road trip.

Shall we wear fetching hats for this journey? No scarves though, in case we meet Isadora Duncan's fate.

littlewhitebag · 04/07/2013 22:25

I used to have a 3 series BMW. It went like a bat out of hell.

Now i have a dog .... and a Volvo estate.

No bats going anywhere fast now.

Any spare seats for the road trip?

Hissy · 04/07/2013 22:34

I have this it's not that fast, but it's lovely, all mine, and i'll be happy to tag along on the convoy if you'll have me!

Hissy · 04/07/2013 22:35

And Fenton, I adore your car too!

Wuldric · 04/07/2013 22:43

OOh a convoy - lovely idea :)

OP posts:
KatOD · 04/07/2013 22:44

Quite pleased about the 0-60 stuff, I'm hoping to hang off the back on a skateboard like Michael J Fox, hope that's ok....

Wuldric · 04/07/2013 22:45

Always room for an eccentric to hang off the back of my car :) I shall try this with DH - it might work

Grin

dh once bought me a car as a birthday surprise. We walked out of the restaurant where he'd taken me for a surprise lunch, with loads of friends and family, and there was a car outside with the doors open and Tracy Chapman belting out. (Only it was a little Ford KA but you know, the thought was there. I was learning to drive at the time, a BMW would have scared the life out of me!)

flipchart · 04/07/2013 22:49

Well for your 2 teenagers, grumpy DH and fast car I top trump you for 2 teenagers, a grumpy DH, a brand new ( well it was in September) fast car and a Souter doubler Orange mountain bike AND a kona road bike!

Beat that!

Earthworms · 04/07/2013 22:49

Promise ill be bad good
