I've given all of my baby stuff to a friend in need. Both her and DH are out of work and got DC3 on the way. She asked me and even though I was going to sell it as I am hard up myself (had to rent house out as cant afford my mortgage) I let her have it
because she has nothing. It was all in excellent condition, some of it practically new as my own DTs spent a very long time in hospital.

I have just been on FB to see that every item is for sale on one of the selling sites.

I'm furious. AIBU? And also, WWYD?

Any update OP?

Hope u got ur stuff back :)

If they're duplicates, she can give yours back as you know someone else who is hard up and expecting who would appreciate them.

I hate it wheel when people flip goods - it's bloody rude and spits on the goodwill that the original good deed intended.

LemonBreeland · 11/07/2013 15:04

don't write it off. Get it back from her.

I had the same with some relatives. We gave them loads of stuff but also lent stuff which was very expensive (and made it clear that these particular things were a loan);

Playpen, Angel sleep alarm pads, sterilisers etc.

Never saw them at the house and they never mentioned again - I suspect they played Lady Bountiful with one of their NCT friends rather than selling it on..

I was all for saying something but this part of the family are a funny bunch and it would have caused several shades of arguments so we had to leave it but have never lent or given them anything else again.

Loving your response to her!

Did you get the stuff back?

thispunderfullife · 14/07/2013 15:06

Dying to know what happened... Well done on Facebook commenting, brilliant!!

CruCru · 14/07/2013 15:47

If you write it off, you will have pointlessly made a fuss and made yourself look petty. She will never take you seriously again. Ever tried to get money back from someone always trying to borrow a tenner?
