Inlaws just back from 2 months at their holiday home abroad. Not long haul-3 hour flight.

Have asked if they can babysit on Friday as dh really wants to go and see World war Z and am not sure how much longer it will be showing.

Background is inlaws only babysit once a year on our anniversary and for the last 2 years haven't even done this citing health reasons.

I usually rely in a very good friend for babysitting-the twice a year dh and I go out but she has a lot of personal issues at the moment and don't feel can ask her.

Aibu to ask them to babysit for a couple of hours seeing as they just back from holiday?

They will have been back for enough time to cope with an evening babysitting by Friday.

YANBU to ask a child's grandparents to babysit.

YANBU - I think they owe you a few babysits!

Well I have asked but mil is hedging her bets. Don't want to say too much in case it outs me but apparently a family member is ill. Not so ill that anyone thought to let dh and I know thoughHmm

My DM babysat the night after a 24 hour plane trip so we could go to a wedding. The oldest was 10 at the time so could help but it was fine and they were ALL fast asleep when we got home (so no endless questions about what the bride wore etc).
