MY DS turns 3 in the middle of a week when both myself and DH are at work, DD will be at school. I could if need be take the day off to spend with him as am SE but then I wont get paid and we have a party planned for the weekend after where he'll get a lot of fuss. So..is it wrong to leave all cards & presents etc til the party day? If we do cards & presents in the morn of his real bday I'd feel bad about then sending him off for a normal day to the CM..and he wont know the difference at this age, will he?!!

Of course he won't know the difference!

it is fine! perfectly normal for him to learn that the world doesn't stop on your birthday. presents and cards and special breakfast then business as usual.

It's totally fine! When he's at school he will have to go in as usual...and most kids then have parties at the weekend. He won't know.

I've done it.
