whatshall & coco it was realising this, and twigging that a section of human thigh if cut and presented in the same way would look exactly like a sunday roast of beef or pork, that gave me a significant shove on the road to becoming vegetarian!

Well it wouldn't look like beef. Beef would be much too dark. It would probably look like pork though. IIRC the cannibal word for human is 'Long Pig'.

Not sure why knowing that people are made of meat puts you off eating pig. Surely it should shove you towards eating people? ;)

yy, it took me YEARS to see the bat in the batman logo, I only ever saw teeth!

I asked my husband about where pineapples grow last night and probed him a bit. He came out with this description of a pineapple tree:
"they're really tall trees like palm trees and are normally near the sea. They grow in bunches".

So I asked him how people get the pineapples down: "They normally fall down when ripe, but locals climb up to chop down non ripe ones to sell".

So then I asked him again if the trees are really tall: "yes they're palm trees. pineapple palm trees"

That's when I burst out laughing and showed him a picture of a pineapple growing from the ground and told him pineapples don't grow on trees. He was dumbfounded! Duh!
