for BlackBerry is actually two overlapping Bs and not the cluster of dots I've assumed it to be for the past five years of BlackBerry ownership?!

What blindingly obvious things have you failed to notice?

Very interesting fluckered Liked the bronx zoo one the best

GoatBongosAnonymous · 30/06/2013 18:05

Kiwi fruit aren't supposed to be called kiwi fruit any more. They are called zespri. Apparently countries with a big export in them, like Argentina, objected to the name...
And hooray that everyone here are calling them kiwi fruit! Hate when they are called kiwis. I am a kiwi. Am I brown and hairy and green in the middle??
Don't answer that... Grin

fluckered · 30/06/2013 18:07

I like the toblerone one ... have eaten loads of them over the years and never copped the bear in the mountain.

gremlindolphin · 30/06/2013 18:17

I got to the age of 43 without knowing that the days of the week come from names of gods thors day, wodins day etc can't remember the others but it blew my mind! I was very cross with dh for not telling me!

KirjavaTheCat · 30/06/2013 18:22

Adam Ant. Never understood why he called himself that, the man looks nothing like an ant nor did he dress as one.

ADAMANT. Ohhhh.

StealthPolarBear · 30/06/2013 18:49

CalamityJ · 30/06/2013 21:43

Another one who thought pineapples and watermelons grew on trees. Lol at the idea of them falling out of the trees!

GinOnTwoWheels · 30/06/2013 21:53

I hate threads like these because when you google Blackberry/Disney etc you get adverts for these items for days on end afterwards. I did have the adblocker thing but it disappered and I haven't got round to setting it up again. (I still don't get all the Bs in the logo, I just see something that looks sort of like a blackberry (fruit).

I've learnt quite a few things from this thread, but already knew that moles were a lot smaller than I'd imagined as I'd seen one that had been run over Sad and indeed it was more like rat sized than badger sized. Respect to them though with the size of molehills for such a little creature Grin.

I also learnt that courgettes were in the same family as squash when I tried to cut up what I thought was a funny cucumber that I'd grown but it turned out to have a much harder skin than I expected.

However, I dispute QI as the font of all knowledge as I read something in their book that I know is wrong.

But I must tell DSis, mother of 5 so she ought to know better, that she was wrong when I asked her why babies vests have those funny envelope shoulders and she replied 'so it is easier to get their arms in'.

Purplehonesty · 30/06/2013 22:06

I did not know that Frost was played by the same actor as dell boy in only fools and horses...
And that Liam was short for William. Duh.

QueenStromba · 30/06/2013 22:10

Liam is also a name in it's own right (Irish) but can be a shortening of William.

StealthPolarBear · 30/06/2013 22:18

The blackberry thing is white capital Bs on a while background with their interior bits black

TinaSurrey · 30/06/2013 22:18

God - are moles not badger size? The things I learn on MS :-)

TinaSurrey · 30/06/2013 22:19

Or even MN!

XBenedict · 30/06/2013 22:24

That Keith Chegwin is Janice Longs brother.
That Johnny Morris was an actor and not a real zoo keeper.

Seenitall · 30/06/2013 23:31

Years ago my dp asked me if he could try my flip flops on as he had never worn any before, walks across the room making loud flip flop noises, stops in his tracks and exclaims "oh my god that's why they're called flip flops",
He has also asked me what the B in bidet stood for, and whilst drinking mango juice, asked what mangos are! - I'm keeping my fingers crossed our dd just gets his good looks!

crazyhamsterdisguisedasahippo · 30/06/2013 23:44

PuggyMum · 30/06/2013 23:47

PuggyMum · 30/06/2013 23:49

Doh! Just read the thread!!

Saidar · 30/06/2013 23:59

"It's like one of those pictures of dots you're supposed to stare at until you see Jesus standing on a dolphin or something" BAHAHAHAHA!

Gary Oldman is Laila Morse's little brother.

RiffyWammal · 01/07/2013 00:05

After seeing it for the umpteenth time, I remarked to DH how annoying the women in the Secret Escapes advert were. That was when I found out that they are all the same woman! Shock

RiffyWammal · 01/07/2013 00:08

Remembered another one; I was amazed to discover that Roy Orbison was not blind after all.

harverina · 01/07/2013 00:12

I am shocked that pineapples don't grow on trees. I thought they grew on palm trees Shock I want to waken dh up to see if he knows this!!

Some of those logos are brilliant! Don't get the D in Disney though. It's just a D? It doesn't look like a G.

I only found out last week through a mn thread what the fold down bits on vests are for! Poor dd Wink

Monty27 · 01/07/2013 00:13

I saw pineapples in the Eden Project too. I was Shock

I saw bananas growing in a plantation in Cyprus Shock They're not a fruit, they're a herb.

I never knew Roy Orbison wasn't bling Riffy Shock
