for BlackBerry is actually two overlapping Bs and not the cluster of dots I've assumed it to be for the past five years of BlackBerry ownership?!

What blindingly obvious things have you failed to notice?

Lollydaydream · 01/07/2013 00:14

love the link for all the logos; feel slightly sad for the designers that so many of us don't even notice their clever efforts. Can't believe the fedex arrow won awards and I've never spotted it!

Speaking of fruit growing on trees I believed about the spaghetti for years......... Blush

harverina · 01/07/2013 00:14

Haha just woke dh up and asked him where pineapples grow and he replied "on a pineapple tree" GrinGrinGrin hahahahahahaha - fool!!!

I'm going to let him live in ignorance a little longer.

ZadokTheBeast · 01/07/2013 00:16

For ages I thought that test cricket was sponsored by some company called jamodu - the logo's painted on the grass.
Bloody npower upside down.

TrinityRhino · 01/07/2013 09:39

but if you take the vests down over the body IT STRETCHES THE NECK aaarggghhhh and I hate that

its so you can take them off over the head easier

WildlingPrincess · 01/07/2013 09:50

I thought it was berries Blush It's so obvious now you've said it!

Fakebook · 01/07/2013 10:17

Did you know the apple logo is a half eaten apple?

plainjaney · 01/07/2013 10:23

I have a degree in Graphics and I do rather love logos. I especially love it when designers finish a logo, sit back proudly admiring their work and fail to see what the rest of us see..... (an impartial eye is always useful in design)

20 Inadvertently Rude Logos

plainjaney · 01/07/2013 10:36

Oh, and it took me months to notice the Mumsnet Logo was a rip off of the Charlies Angels logo Blush

TrinityRhino · 01/07/2013 10:43

ooooh charlies angels......

DowntonTrout · 01/07/2013 10:44

We had the discussion about pineapples a few weeks ago on a girls holiday abroad.

They said they had never seen a pineapple tree.

I said " they don't grow on trees, they grow close to the ground," whereby they all laughed at me and said don't be silly.

I saw it on QI and so had to google it for them and show them the pictures of pineapple fields. They were Shock

BeautifulBlondePineapple · 01/07/2013 11:10

It took me until about the age of 30 to realise that Rice Krispies were made from actual rice. Blush

AmIthatSpringy · 01/07/2013 11:44

I don't get the Disney one. Even if it looks like a g, what odd about that

lynniep · 01/07/2013 11:49

I was quite old when it dawned on my why football was named as such...

plainjaney · 01/07/2013 12:03

Many years ago I worked part time next door to a pie shop. On the days I was working I'd nip in and have the same thing all the time.

Years later long after I'd quit the job and gone back to Uni my DH came home with one of my favourite pies. As I sat enjoying it I said to him "I've never understood why its called that you know, there is no lettuce in it" DH then pointed out through his tears of laughter it was a Vegetable LATTICE.

Can't believe I spent all those years asking for a Veg Lettuce. Blush

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 01/07/2013 12:09

Well, I had no idea about pineapples, the blackberry logo or the baby vest necks (have 2 ds's so should have known that!).

Time to start watching QI I think Blush

RiffyWammal · 01/07/2013 14:49

I don't think that's what the envelope neck is designed for. It's just to make it easier to get their heads through, surely? And if mine ever got poo on their vests, I would just kind of roll the vest up and open the envelope neck wide as I pulled it over and the poo wouldn't go on their heads anyway.

Apileofballyhoo · 01/07/2013 14:56

What Riffy said. Also Liam is the Irish for William, not a separate name in its own right, afaik.

squoosh · 01/07/2013 15:19

No it is a separate name in it's own right.

I think Liam and William were originally both versions of Wilhelm.

whatshallwedo · 01/07/2013 20:33

I only realised recently that the meat we eat is actually the animals muscle! I think I must have had in my head that they had a layer of 'meat' under their fat and then the muscles etc. I have not admitted this in rl though Blush

cocolepew · 01/07/2013 20:40

Wait! What? Muscle?! Urgh.

MojitoMagnet · 01/07/2013 20:48

whatshall & coco it was realising this, and twigging that a section of human thigh if cut and presented in the same way would look exactly like a sunday roast of beef or pork, that gave me a significant shove on the road to becoming vegetarian!

weaseleyes · 01/07/2013 20:48

Baked beans are cooked in the can??

cocolepew · 01/07/2013 20:59

I think I might become one now Shock

wizzler · 01/07/2013 21:11

Shocked about Pineapples.. who knew ?
Also had not spotted the Toblerone bear.
Grin at Zadok watching the cricket!

whatshallwedo · 01/07/2013 22:14

I have always struggled with eating meat and this new found revelation hasn't helped the situation!
