to think that fireworks at 11.20 every night for a week is a bit much

Just that really. They've just gone off again. They've woken up my DD every night this week. I don't think there is anything special about this week is there? Have I missed something? It's not a massive display or anything, just a few very loud bangs every night. AIBU

I could be wrong, but I thought that it was against the law to set them off after 11 (except for Hogmanay and 5th November)

Hashtagwhatever · 29/06/2013 23:59

Just to add they've just started going off around here too.
Mahoosive loud ones. Urr

primallass · 30/06/2013 00:01

Early 4th of July?

OddBoots · 30/06/2013 00:05

We had some last night but I found out today that they were from a local school's leavers' prom. That wouldn't be every night though.

MrsGrowbag · 30/06/2013 05:12

Try living in Cambridge in May week when all the colleges have their balls. Noise, music and fireworks every night .

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 30/06/2013 05:43

Try living in Edinburgh, with the tattoo on every night.

Fakebook · 30/06/2013 07:29

Strange, we had a few last night too. I don't mind fireworks though. It's just a few bangs. You have quiet nights 99% of the time otherwise.

There was 3-4 fireworks went off here last night too. Not near any festivals etc...hmm wonder what tgey were for?

WheresTheHoneyMummy · 30/06/2013 07:59

Now I'm wondering if any of you live near me - we heard loud fireworks last night at about 10.30pm, lasted about 5 minutes then could hear loud music when we went to bed.

ThoraNomiki · 30/06/2013 08:04

I heard fireworks and music too. Nowhere near Glastonbury. Nearer IOW but that was a couple of weeks ago. Maybe end of year parties?

Fakebook · 30/06/2013 08:06

Maybe it was to mark the release of the iphone in 2007. We do have a few geeks living closeby.

amistillsexy · 30/06/2013 08:10

Isn't it Ramadan? Are thru letting off fireworks to mark the break of the fast?

Fakebook · 30/06/2013 08:14

Muslims don't let off fireworks to mark the break of fast. If they did do that, theyd let them off at sunset not 11.30 pm.

amistillsexy · 30/06/2013 08:18

You're right, and its not Ramadan till next week. My theory blown out of the water!

Enfyshedd · 30/06/2013 09:38

If you know who's doing it, maybe call 101 to ask the police for advice - sure it would be classed as anti-social behaviour letting off fireworks at that time of night.

freddiefrog · 30/06/2013 09:58

It was the Isle of Wight Festival a couple of weeks ago. They have fireworks each night, it was probably that

SillyTilly123 · 30/06/2013 10:05

I'm in the North-East so dont think it was the IOM party lol.

moanymandy · 30/06/2013 10:17

someone was setting off fireworks at 1am this morning by me!Angry

twitchycurtains · 30/06/2013 10:23

It's wedding season, lots of Asian Weddings have fireworks towards the end of the evening.

tallulah · 30/06/2013 11:02

We heard fireworks as well last night. Started before it got dark Confused but didn't go on very long.

I'm sure there is a law that says they can only be set off Nov 5 week and NY.
