... That you should take a shower before getting in the swimming pool?

I was enjoying my early morning swim today - was in a good rhythm, technique coming together nicely and my breathing was nice and regular.

Until someone got into the pool wearing some sort of scent. Angry

My poor asthmatic lungs went into shutdown, and I just about made it to the end of the lane before I had to have a huge coughing fit. Fortunately, I had just about finished the session I had planned and only had to drop the last couple of lengths, as I just couldn't breath enough to continue.

I have asked the pool I was swimming at if they would consider imposing a 'shower before you swim' policy as this is not the first time this has happened.

But please, everyone, if you come to the pool wearing scent, have a shower before you get in?

TIA

Most swimming pools have this anyway IME to get rid of dead skin before getting in the pool

Sorry!

I've never been to a pool where they don't have this policy. I always shower before swim because someone once told me dry hair absorbs the chlorine more than if you wet it first. No idea if its true but I'll keep shower first anyway!
