to have never reclined a pushchair seat.

All 3 of my kids just nap/napped upright. They seemed perfectly happy.

Am I lazy? With DC3 I did begin reclining the seat once - it woke her up, and she was incandescent with rage at finding herself reclining.

I've never reclined a car seat either - it has only recently come to my attention that some car seats recline!

(caveat: I did keep them in fully flat prams until they were 6 months old, I'm only talking about older babies/toddlers, not newborns).

Why would that make you lazy? Confused

You've never had a shag in a car then? Wink

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 24/06/2013 15:03

Well it depends on the way you use the pushchair. I walked for mile with mine as I don't drive...so reclined it as we'd be out for three and four hours at times. Why wouldn't I recline it? DD was more comfy and would sleep for longer.

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/06/2013 15:11

DD's neck used to look like she had been garroted if I didn't. Don't see why I would have bothered if she didn't.

Ditto on the car shagging though. You need to put that on your bucket list.

CharlieCoCo · 24/06/2013 15:16

well if the are napping for a couple of hours, why wouldnt you prefer them to be more comfortable and in a lying down position to a sitting up position. which would you prefer? i wouldnt wait til they were alseep to recline though, i would recline it for napttime. they would also go to sleep a lot quicker too as in sleep position.

RikeBider · 24/06/2013 15:18

Mine looked more comfortable and fell asleep quicker reclined. It takes about 3 seconds to do so not sure it is an issue of laziness.

Do you mean a reclining baby car seat?

TanglednotTamed · 24/06/2013 18:48

Yes a baby car seat! FFS. How did this thread get derailed on to shaggy g? :)

I think I must be odd - just never reclined pushchair.

I never either dd was/is such a sleep refuser the reclining of the pushchair would just wake her up if she was starting to look tired. I would gradually recline a little once she was asleep occasionally but that would usually wake her too so I stopped bothering. I figured if she was able to get to sleep she must be semi-comfy.

valiumredhead · 24/06/2013 18:58

Baby car seats recline? I never knew I thought you meant regular car seatsGrin Grin

TanglednotTamed · 24/06/2013 20:54

i didn't know baby ones did either, valium, someone pointed it out to me recently - too late for my 3 though.

I am just feeling a bit bad for my poor children forced to nap upright throughout their napping lives. Still, they seem to have survived, and I daresay I will inflict worse on them before I'm done.

btw, valium, i just re-read my OP and it is not at all obvious that I meant a baby car seat, so I can see why you interpreted it as you did!
