Well it obviously wasn't working with his wife for whatever reason. I couldn't get angry at someone else's husband though. I'd think him an arse and feel sorry for her, yes, but only they know all the details. He's left. If I was your friend I'd rather he'd buggered off as I wouldn't want him back after an affair. Her kids are all independent apart from the 12 year old. In a year or two she can have a snigger to herself that's he's probably still having to get up in the night with the OW's kids.
