Nobody really knows who they are, maybe they are some weird alien types slowly taking over the world with their useless talents of appearing everywhere, like good little Z list celebrities, thus destroying our brains from the inside.

Don't worry, they're harmless, mostly.

They entertain people, and make money from it, so I suppose that's fair exchange.

I don't watch them or follow their lives as they don't interest me, a bit like I don't watch football or motor racing.

It's fine not to know who they are, or care, unless you are in a pub quiz team. I fail at pub quizes because i know nothing about "popular culture".

They are famous because people seem to be interested in Clebs, who don't do anything in particular, except look a certain way, or sleep with certain other real clebs, so the media keeps creating them.

It is a very profitable industry.

YANBU. Most of them seem utterly pointless yet at the same convinced that they are truly amazing and envied by all. All they seem to do is date then break up with each other and provide fodder to gossip mags. Utterly yawn worthy.

The only one I knew of was Bruce Jenner, and that's only because he was in the Olympics years ago for the states - decathalon gold medal I think?

I have to ask my teenage daughter who they are. The Kardashians seem particularly vacuous. Their dad represented OJ in court, didn't he? So they're famous for having a famous father. OK.

Apparently Mr Kardashian Sr was one of OJ Simpson's defence lawyers and he used his connections to propel his family into the limelight.

I was bored one day and googled everything about them. Apparently kris Jenner was an alcoholic and wayward when married to her first husband, Robert kardashian and apparently, khloe kardashian is the product of an affair she had with her hairdresser.

They're famous for their reality TV show and also, their father Robert kardashian, represented OJ Simpson in his trial and Kris Jenner was Nicole Brown's best friend or something.

I've sorted prided myself in having no interest in gossip mags are or TOWIE type programmes but then I get frustrated with not at least knowing who people are talking about as if everyone knows.

I dont know who most of the "slebs" are that feature in gossip magazines. Never seen TOWIE, celebrity jungles or any of it. I dont feel i'm missing anything !
