To be really annoyed with nursery!!

I'm really mad at my ds nursery and need to have a moan about it. Ds is 18 m and doesn't really nap in the day time anymore. However when he was at nursery yesterday they let him nap for FOUR hours!! I wouldn't be so mad if it was an hour but 4 hours is ridiculous. I told nursery teacher I wasn't happy that they had let him sleep so long and that he doesn't really nap in the day time anymore as he outgrew that himself months ago. I understand if he was exhausted for some reason and needed a nap but he was only at nursery 6 hours and was aleep for most of it. Anyway last night he didn't get to sleep until 4.30 am and woke up again at 6 I'm off with him today and so far he hasn't slept...despite me trying to get him to have a short nap all morning. I know he will be tired gain tomorrow when he is back at nursery and they will prob just let him sleep all blooming day again.....grrrrrrrrrrrr

Poor you - must be a bit of a struggle. YANBU btw they should do as you say at nursery at a 4 hr nap is excessive for any child.

he obviousely needed it, other wise he wouldnt have slept that long.

how ever i do think the nursery should have called youwhen it got to 2- 2-1/2 hours as it unuasle, could be coming down with something or he could have just needed it.

both of mine 6 and 3 at the time, both fell asleep at 3pm once and didnt wake up till 7 am, they where fine, but just had had so much excitmeant over christmass thatr they must of needed it.

i also agree that 18 months isnt to young to drop naps. IF theve done it thier selfs. some children just dont need that much sleep.

YANBU, 4 hours is far too long. I can sympathise, if DS2 naps (even for 20 minutes) he won't sleep at 7pm and is up all evening.

I would mention it to them and see what their explanation is. It may be that they simply couldn't wake him.
