why isn't there a "you will PYSL @ this - must read!" alert on the side bar?

I want to read all the funny treads as they are unfolding - participation would be great, but it's more because I want the thread to be alive.

It is important to me.

I want live comedy.

The trouble is, everyone's sense of humour is different. Last night I posted a link that after a bottle of wine I thought was hilarious. Some others didn't think so, and this morning I don't find it quite so funny either.

amazingmumof6 · 19/06/2013 11:04

true, but still I'd rather stumble on something that I don't find so funny, than miss something bloody hilarious!

that is why MNHQ really have to come up with a system, like on YouTube

you could click on
LIKE
RECOMMEND or
PMSL

so people will at least know what others found funny!

On the Home page there's "Most Active", I'm Watching etc.

Similarly, there could be a "most liked" or simply PMSL right now page or whatever.

so if you just want a laugh you could go there, and browse and you'd be bound to found something to cheer you up.

I could really use that when up with baby at night, or I'm sad or stressed or angry...

on the main site you can set it so you will see who the last poster on a thread is... then you know Wink

you just get an eye for it eventually, you can tell when something is going to 'go'.

and you can pm aitch to recommend threads for the round up if you are very community minded Smile

Agreed.

Although I had a lovely time the other night in classics reading about weasels and sophie's choice with canapes I would have liked to have been on them in real time.

Nagoo · 20/06/2013 09:39

There's no answer for it really other than to put the hours in and make threads funny yourself!

Show them you know how to have a good time Grin

NotDead · 20/06/2013 09:45

imagine deep cinema voice

'mumsnet pmsl brought to you by Tenalady' when normal bladder control just isn't enough'

Grin

Are you aware of the Mumsnet Classics board? If you've got time to burn there are some great threads there.

amazingmumof6 · 20/06/2013 12:35

thanks spoomoo

Classics are great, but loads of them are old and we all know that resuscitating zombie threads are not much fun.

how I wish there was a brand new Sharon thread!

or an M&S spoof one:

"this is not just a funny thread.
this is an original PMSL, exquisitely ROFL, super special Shock Confused Smile Grin quality, limited edition LMFAO thread! "
