please help .i am 41 and have started to have irregular periods mine used to run like clockwork but now unpredictable. i am having mood swings too which i did not used to and i am unsure of hot flushes yet.do you kind people think that i have started the menopause or do you think a trip to the doctors is in order

sounds like the start of menopause, a blood test can be done to see if it is.

my periods went worse when I hit 38. no side of menopause for me, just irregular, very emotional, very bitchy and incredibly hungry for a couple of days in the week upto it.

Go to the doctors if you are worried or want a definite answer.

Certainly sounds peri menopausal. There's some good threads on here about it.

This is happening to me to. Over the space of a year I went from regular periods to bleeding for most of the month, double padding and still leaking after 20 mins. I also never had much in the way of cramps or PMT before and then boy did that change! The fatigue was unbearable. I went to the docs and had bloods done and scans. They found I wasn't menopausal but anemic and have a 'grumbling uterus'! I saw a specialist and am now on a list to have a hysterectomy. I know your symptoms aren't exactly the same, but it doesn't necessarily mean you are menopausal as that was my first thought with me. Good luck!

have been to the docs and have had blood taken as he thinks the it is pre menopause get the results in around a week

Well that's progress. Let us know what your results are as my dr is in denial about peri menopausal symptoms

results are back i am now pre menopausal boo hiss(have started the hot flushes already)
