AIBU to have started folding towels the Anthea way?

I clicked on a link in the Anthea/Grant thread. I knew it was a mistake as soon as I clicked. I emptied the tumble dryer last night and folded the towels the Anthea way. I couldn't stop myself.

There was a link to folding T shirts beside the towel folding video. I'm so afraid I may weaken and find it again.

DH viewed the towel folding with some bewilderment and wondered if we'd suddenly moved to Stepford. 30 years of slatternly house-wifery blown away in an instant. I hope there is a way back.

I have bought a Sheldon T-shirt folder thanks to this thread. I hate you all.

A mumsnetter was on her TV programme and was vile to her off camera. I have never liked her and liked her even less after I found that out !

I've always folded towels like her.

Longdistance · 17/06/2013 15:58

And the lesson to learn here ladies.........it doesn't matter if you fold his t-shirts perfect, and the bath is scrubbed clean......

You're still likely to split up if you're he perfect housewife.

CrayolaLola · 17/06/2013 16:13

Just clicked on the link out of curiosity and OMG! I already do most of these things and have never even watched any of her TV programs.

I am Linen cupboard Ninja Grin.............. Blush

mamachelle · 17/06/2013 17:20

oh dear, i am a little bit jealous of her airing cupboard! i periodically reorganise mine and can be proud of it for a day . . . until the kids need a hiding place or dh want something from the bottom of the pile!

valiumredhead · 17/06/2013 17:31

I think the lesson to be learned also is 'once a cheater, always a cheater and it doesn't matter HOW you fold your bath towels, if your husband left his wife and kids for you, then he will probably do the same again to you at some point.'Sad

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2013 17:32

But at least if your marriage goes tits up you are safe in the knowledge that everything else is perfect.

lol ! Folding a tshirt neatly and flatly has always been referred to in our house as the Benetton Fold as they were, I think, the first shop that had piles of immaculately folded clothes here

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2013 17:51

I once saw a poor Primark employee given the task of refolding all the T Shirts customers had unfolded. It was a Saturday afternoon and she was losing the battle big time. Sad

LilRedWG · 17/06/2013 17:51

I roll my towels. they look pretty! Blush

Crinkle77 · 17/06/2013 17:56

Oh my god you have just made me watch that now. The towel folding is a bit ridiculous. The woman's airing cupboard was just a bit of a mess in the first place and you certainly don't need to go to all that trouble. Although I am feeling rather smug as I already put my duvet on by the method she recommends.

Oldraver · 17/06/2013 18:09

I've realised I fold towels the 'Anthea' way but with an additional half fold at the begining....we dont have an airing cupboard just a small cupboard in the bathroom so they are folded to fit the gap

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 17/06/2013 18:19

Now I have just watched that and I imagine it takes extra time, does it not? I fold all my towels lengthways in half and then lengthways in half again. That way, you unfold one fold and they go straight on the rail. I can't understand people who fold in half widthways Confused

That makes no sense at all!

AuntieMaggie · 17/06/2013 18:30

You can make the Sheldon t-shirt folder with an old cardboard box Wink

youmeatsix · 17/06/2013 18:31

"ANTHEA TURNER PERFECT HOUSEWIFE - HOUSEKEEPING" what madness is this? i roll my towels, easiest way to store them, when i hang them i fold them as she does so you dont see the edges. and they pay this woman for this common sense article? Hmm poor womans Martha Stewart

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2013 18:33

Without the criminal record you. Grin

ParadiseChick · 17/06/2013 18:34

I roll hand towels

PoppyAmex · 17/06/2013 18:35

Nigel I remember those rows of perfectly lined tops so well, this is why I was desperate to find out if there was an "official Benetton" way! Grin

MrsGSR · 17/06/2013 18:41

I fold towels like that, my husband showed me how! He is a bit particular with some things, I remember getting back to his mum's house at drunk at 3am and him refolding all the towels she'd washed the night before...

sashh · 17/06/2013 22:24

Another vote for rolling towels, then stick them in a nice basket - look good and practical.

valiumredhead · 17/06/2013 22:29

I roll ds's t shirts.

Furball · 20/06/2013 14:33

Well my t shirts have never looked so good lined up in the drawer.
