To have the allured face at the bearded giant percussionist of the Liverpool Philharmonic tenderly playing the triangle?

And then multitasking with a big old drum on its side?

And I do believe he played the xylophone also, rhythmically.

I had some lusty feelings. And at a family concert too [family concert on fathers day wholesome activities stealth boast]

It's obviously a no (to my aibu?) but I thought I'd let you all know about him.

You should have gone backstage and complimented him on his impressive instrument Grin.

Slubberdelatrinae · 16/06/2013 20:04

He had a whole selection and moved nimbly about hitting this and that as the music required.

I used to think the brass section had the most fun but I reckon percussion is where it's at for the serious lolz these days.

I had a serious crush on the 6th former who played percussion in our school band when I was 14, so I can see where you're coming from.

Never seen a bearded giant percussionist though.

Slubberdelatrinae · 16/06/2013 20:10

Well giant might be hyperbole. Difficult to tell isn't it, small/far away etc.

Ffuntimewincies · 17/06/2013 11:58

Yes, small/far away thing harder to judge if you've been in the pub beforehand as well?

Just a thought OP Wink.

WilsonFrickett · 17/06/2013 12:02

Oooh yes, we luffs percussionists. Excellent sense of what I like to call rhythm, you see...

WilsonFrickett · 17/06/2013 12:02

Oh and kettle drum.

bachsingingmum · 17/06/2013 13:04

The big one on its side is a bass drum. Kettledrums or timpani as the ones they percussionist usually sits at in sets (two or more at once tuned to different pitches). They are usually shiny copper coloured on the outside.

Glad you enjoyed it Wink

Percussionist: good with his hands, good sense of rhythm
Bearded: joy of sex, sub-consciously.

ScooseIsLoose · 17/06/2013 13:40

I don't know who the percussionist is but this is the composer phwoar

ScooseIsLoose · 17/06/2013 13:41

Not composer! I meant conductor!

bachsingingmum · 17/06/2013 13:42

Just remembering similar lusty feelings while watching the left hand of a nice young violinist executing a lovely vibrato. We weren't an item then, but "Reader, I married him."

ScooseIsLoose · 17/06/2013 13:44

try again

LostInWales · 17/06/2013 13:45

Gigantic beardy man with a good sense of rhythm. Oh My.

Clever men/musical men very sexy IMHO.

LostInWales · 17/06/2013 13:50

Too smooth Scoose! And probably half my age.

Like these

ScooseIsLoose · 17/06/2013 13:53

Shit that's a beard and a half!!

ScooseIsLoose · 17/06/2013 13:54

now he isn't bad!

Flosshilde · 17/06/2013 13:54

One of my teenage crushes was on a timpanist. He must have been about 30. My friends and I used to flutter our eyelashes and giggle at him from the choir. He ignored us. Grin

LostInWales · 17/06/2013 14:04

Now you're getting it Scoose Grin. I like the one top left sitting at his typewriter. Where's Slubber, she will love this when she comes back.

If you type 'bearded percusisonist' into google this thread comes up first. Sadly no images of sexy beardy xylophone players.

Lovecat · 17/06/2013 14:11

I can't see a man with a beard that thick without thinking week-old toast crumbs :o

And there is nothing sexy about a xylophone

Just makes me think of this:

LostInWales · 17/06/2013 14:13

Well that was weird Grin

LadyMacbethIsBored · 17/06/2013 14:19

ScooseIsLoose I met Vasily Petrenko at the Gramophone Awards a few years ago and have had a major crush on him ever since. He has a very sexy accent too. Blush

ScooseIsLoose · 17/06/2013 18:27

Ooh I can imagine he's Russian isnt he?

garlicnutty · 17/06/2013 18:47

Well, he's not Graham Johns or Josephine Frieze, so he must be Henry Baldwin? I can't find any photos of him or his beard, and am fed up of sleuthing now.

You are a big tease, Slubber, sharing your percussive fantasies without as much as a snapshot! YABU.
