Is just seems like another bit of benefit bashing to me.

I know she shouldn't have had children she couldn't afford, but what hope of improving her lot???

Benefits should be there to help people who cannot help themselves (those who are severely handicapped etc) or as a temporary support to help people to help themselves.

Ashoething · 12/06/2013 18:44

Not where I live it aint beers-they all have a far nicer liestyle than I do. Before I get told I am a liarHmm-there are loads of people in my extended family who are on benefits-some of them 3rd generation claimants. I see how they live and believe me its not hand to mouth.Yet...

morethanpotatoprints · 12/06/2013 18:44

Ash

No, I am very happy I can't see how this lifestyle pisses on other peoples chips. I don't think I'd like myself much if I could.
My dc have all had their own rooms and I am a sahm receiving benefit too. (Although it wasn't classed as benefit until recently) Funny, this goal post shifting.

Bonquers · 12/06/2013 18:46

Ashoe oh boy is the tide turing. At long bloody last!!!

Ashoething · 12/06/2013 18:46

No goal post shifting here more-my views haven't changed since the start of the thread. You may want to start at the beginning and read it?

ItsallFeegle · 12/06/2013 18:47

As I've said too many times for those of tiny minds.

This could be a possibility, as could your nonsense explanation.

That is all Smile

FasterStronger · 12/06/2013 18:47

yes - the tide it turning and we will be the leaner, keener country we need to be to stand the strains of more people in the world competing with us for food and fuel.

Ashoething · 12/06/2013 18:48

I fail to see why people keep whinging about it really-whether or not this women represents a miniscule proportion of benefits claimants-Im sure she does-the welfare state cannot continue as it has done and reforms will take place. The arguments over the rights and wrongs of this womans situation is academic really.

FasterStronger · 12/06/2013 18:49

I can't see how this lifestyle pisses on other peoples chips

I think saying you prefer meeting friends for coffee, going to a walk instead of working....

...funded by other people who do work probably does count as pissing on their chips.

of course you don't. but they do. and they vote.

usualsuspect · 12/06/2013 18:49

Omg not the smoking, drinking, car driving, holiday abrosd going,Xbox playing, flat screen watching, takeaway eating ,neighbours/family members bollocks.

HahahaHahaha.

Ashoething · 12/06/2013 18:49

What nonsense explanation? The plain truth that she continued to have so many children because she knew she didn't have to pay for them?

tethersend · 12/06/2013 18:49

"it's all looking good for decent working people after 15 years of Labour throwing our taxes at the feckless, useless and lazy."

Paahahahahhaha Grin

That's so hackneyed it'd make Gideon blush Grin

Bonquers · 12/06/2013 18:49

You can't see that when a family limits their size to two children, live in a small house, both work full time in low paid, dead end jobs it might, just possibly boil their piss that wasters and scroungers like this woman can live so much better than they do and never lift a finger? Are you really telling me you can't see it?

I am not jealous, we have plenty of money but I can jolly well see why some people are so utterly fucked off with the whole system.

FasterStronger · 12/06/2013 18:50

and both political parties know the tide has changed.

Ashoething · 12/06/2013 18:50

How is it bollocks usual? Do you think I making my relatives up?Hmm

Bonquers

Of course she can afford to raise them, have you seen all the posts saying how much money she has. Apparently, she has the same as a couple earning 42k. Of course she can afford to raise them.

So how exactly is she not putting her dc first?

CouthyMow · 12/06/2013 18:52

I DO think that any caps etc to the benefit system should NOT be applied retrospectively - she can't take the DC's BACK now that they are actually HERE, can she?!

That £2k will have to cover rent, food, gas, electricity, water, bus fares to the library to use Internet if she is like me with no local library and her DC's need to do homework, bus fares to go shopping, council tax top-up, clothing, shoes, school uniform, school trips, cookery ingredients for school lessons, possibly preschool costs too, plus any damage to her home that she will have to repair at her own cost if her DC with SN's damages anything, any trips put that she does with the DC's (even a seaside day trip needs saving for for a bloody year when you are on benefits, no bloody fancy flipping holidays). It will have to cover the cost if any costumes required by schools on 'specific' mufti days, nappies, basically EVERYTHING for 8 people.

Which works out as a daily allowance of £8.22 per person to cover all of the above. Could you cover ALL of the stuff on the above list on that?

Bear in mind that this isn't an amount for just food - it has to cover shoes, clothing, their daily share of all the utilities etc, everything written above...

I would find that hard going with just 4 DC's. Admittedly I am disabled, as are 3/4 of my DC's, so that creates extra costs, and I live in the SE, where even HA rented 3-beds are probably dearer than her 6-bed.

I'm just glad that I'm exempt from the cap because DS3 gets DLA.

Bonquers · 12/06/2013 18:52

I dont; care tethers. It's all happening, teh cuts are finally coming and not a moment too soon. And millions of ordinary, decent people in this country can't Bloody Wait.

Ashoething · 12/06/2013 18:52

Again with the personal attacks feegle-is it really nessacary?

ItsallFeegle · 12/06/2013 18:53

Ashoething - "What nonsense explanation? The plain truth that she continued to have so many children because she knew she didn't have to pay for them?"

Did she tell you that?

grumpyinthemorning · 12/06/2013 18:54

We know nothing about the circumstances surrounding the conception and birth of these children. Until you know, don't judge. There but for the grace of god, and all that.

The cap won't stop the truly feckless. The ones who neglect their children, who deal drugs and get drunk all the time - they'll continue to do what they've always done. All the cap will do is put more pressure on people who are already struggling.

Ashoething · 12/06/2013 18:54

Did she tell you she was in an abusive relationship and was barred from using the free contraceptives which are widely available? feegle
