to think this woman broke supermarket etiquette

was in Aldi this evening, approached a checkout followed by woman with trolley of stuff, when the operator said she was shutting. We went to move to the next till, with me waiting to make eye contact and be waved in front as per social norms... but this woman pointedly swung her trolley round and avoided eye contact so she could jump the queue Angry I only had two items! (ok it was curly fries and Haribo...)

Who does this, really?! Would anyone admit to it on here? Did she sit in her car reflecting on how much of a turd she just was, or are some people just oblivious? Hmm

Frou well I thought the post quite humorous, maybe as I am in the same situation as cosmos as we don't have yellow mark down stickers or separators. Our shops are fairly peaceful, unless someone breaks our rule of taking 11 items to the '10 and under' till.. Grin.

I can't bend down properly to see what's on the bottom shelving as I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and my spine is fused. Consequently in my local Tesco, I have to stand back a little further than most so I can see what's on the shelves below. For some reason, this always signals to other shoppers that they should come and stand in front of me,perusing the shelf slowly, as if I was never there.
Other standard supermarket characters guaranteed to make me think WTF are "I'm going to wait right in your face /at your shoulder till you move on because I want to get where you are and I cant bring myself to say excuse me" , "I'm going to stand in front of you when you're looking at something on the shelf, then walk along the aisle, keeping pace with you when you try to move along the aisle" "I'm going to block off this entire aisle or length of shelving with my trolley because NO-ONE is going past me till I've finished reading the small print on this packet of Bolivian tree mints" and my absolute favourite "I'm going to keep gently pushing my trolley into you to push you along the queue in the hope this will either move the queue faster or at least entertain me when it doesn't"

Maybe I should just shop local Grin

Well we have certainly moved on at a cracking pace- supermarket bust ups, trolley-jams, chickenpox ridden children ... Fabulous and all entirely unreasonable.

For the record my retort to Rude Woman was to tut coupled with aggressive slamming of the divider. ( which was hers to put down. Everyone knows you put a divider behind your own shopping. )
