Theyre everywhere on MN.

but if there are so many why cant anything be done about them? apart from sending them all into space !!

How are they all seemingly getting away with it all?

no amount of calling 101/envioronmental/noise patrol people (?)/police etc etc etc. seems to work according to some of the posts.

Are the services scared of them or something? they just get away with it.

regarding noise-if therers a cutoff time why doesnt anyone stick to it if its the law?

or DIY stuff? or parking on drives/stealing things/throwing things, ive read dont know how many threads just today about them all.

cant ANYTHING be done? they seem to know they can get away with it and relish it.

oh great, another reason i hate this time of year.
neighbours out back putting up a gezebo NOW. and large speakers outside NOW.
just looked on council noise thing and loud musics supposed to STOP by 11pm, yet theyre setting up for a party NOW.

theyve done it before, and again, im the only one in road whos not deaf as im the only one who calls 101 or noise pollution people at 2am/3am/4am.

We are renting, nice house, nice street, desirable address. We have the neighbours from hell - owner-occupiers. They think they own the whole street and invest a lot of time and energy staking out and patrolling their territory, including blocking the public highway with their double parked cars so that their DCs can play out unsupervised.

Add three vicious, non stop barking dogs, DW who screams like the proverbial fishwife day and night and I could go on... Folks are folks, it's not about ownership, it's about attitude.

Report
marjproops · 22/06/2013 23:01

exactly. and the attitude is...''we are bullies, we were bullies at school/work etc and we know our way round the system, the pokice etc are scared of us, we make sure they are, as are the neighbours, no one had better report us or....''

and they all look like phil mitchell....even the men Grin

I know it doesn't help now but call the office when it's open and ask who are you supposed to contact at midnight on a Saturday night.

Alternatively call the police and mention drugs

Do you know how much these people in councils get paid??????

Errr yeh, not a great deal! Don't believe everything you read in the DM!! There may be lots of people at the top of the council hierarchies on fabulous money, but the average worker ant gets paid a pretty crap salary to do a hell of a lot of work!!

Yup, I'm unfortunate enough to work for a council. I get a shit wage, to do 4 people's jobs, get screamed at all day, and get zero appreciation. I do the absolute best I can, but I have around 200 cases at the same time, can never go fast enough, am up against bureacracy all day, and have never been thanked in 8 years for what i do. I come home from work depressed most days. And I read stuff like this and wonder why the fuck everyone has been led to believe that people like me sit on there backsides all day and get paid hundreds of thousands!!!

The fault is with the scummy neighbours behaviour, not the poor idiots doing their best to help with pretty much fuck all resources to do do!

In my street there seems to be a competition amongst most of the neighbours-

who can smoke the most cigarettes and throw their butts further and blow smoke into others gardens.

Who can get someone high on THEIR weed.

who can play their ntsts ntsst rubbish garage noise they call music the loudest (they obviously couldn't get to Glastonbury).

who can throw the most beer cans into the 'no tipping' area.

whos dog can bark the loudest.

whos kids can scream and shout the loudest.

and who can have the biggest smelliest bbq going. and its only 5.20pm. this will be going on all night.

just another day in paradise.

oh, and the ones like us and a few other who don't like it, we can all f o* cos they can do what they like and get away ith it as they always do.

It's now part of our constitution. You can't do fuck all about anything, the perpetrators rights win every time.

This country really frustrates me sometimes.

fallen I wish we could live in another country too sometimes.

the so called justice system is a joke that's not even funny.

human rights? lol. what about decent peoples rights?

Oh, and who can drive their cars like lewis Hamilton with the loud exhausts down a 20mph road, and moped/motorbike races too.

I wish we could move but we are pretty much stuck here for a while.

that's it isn't it? the decent ones end up being driven out by these perps.

My sister had neighbours who played music that I could hear through Skype to the point I couldn't hear her. She also told me that on numerous occasions a child of about 8 was being taken in to the house. They did everything properly and the council agreed with them and said it would be dealt with. Sadly begore they intervened someone died and when he was finally Lund the little girl was the only person with him. She had called them 43 times and had send 22 pictures of the child

I know. and the poster who works for the council, im sorry but they should be employing more people, if they have relevant departments they should have the resources etc. its not your fault personally, its this crap government and their bloody cuts just cause they don't have to put up with this shit.

its no good the council/soc services et al saying they are there if they do not have the resources to deal with things. they should ALL do what they say on the tin. no excuses. if they don't have something then they shouldn't say they have.

We had a neighbour who drove us from our house, literally in the middle of the night we just upped and left. She screamed at us through the walls (we lived upstairs her down stairs, our stairs ran next to her hallway). She played music non stop 7am till 11pm, so loud that I could hear every single lyric and it made our floors shake. She left her stereo on this loud while she was at work. She tried to kick my front door in while I was pregnant and alone in the house. She stole our bins (wtf?!). The final straw came when she smashed our car windows. The police told us there was nothing they could do apart from come and tell her to stop, which they only did because they could hear her screaming at us through the walls while I was on the phone to them. They did nothing about our car even though we'd been phoning the police every other day about her abuse and her damaging our property, apparently we had no proof. And the council couldn't do anything either apparently because she was only noisy between 7am an 11pm.
It was the most miserable 6months of my life.

FrenchRuby · 29/06/2013 19:38

the reason she did all this? Because the flat we lived in had been empty for a year and she didn't like having neighbours.

Report
GameSetAndMatch · 29/06/2013 20:11

OMG French we had exactly the same a few places ago, we were also upstairs and the downstairs did exactly the same as they wanted the place for themselves.

I cant BELIEVE the police/council/landlord whoever didn't do anything.
that's disgusting that she got away with it.
we had the same, and I took photos/recordings/they ehard the noie through the phone but the guy downstairs was a yob and it seems they were scared of him or something.

we tried to 'sneak' move too but he saw us, spat at us and hurled dog shit at us. and we were the neighbours from heaven.

I TOTALLY understand and sympathise with you.

The flat was my fils (we rented it from him) and she had bought her flat so there was no one to complain to other than council and police, who were less than useless.

i , and OP and other people here just dont GET how these people get away with it.

its like these yobs that go to court for killing a pensioner or something, get let off, and come out and stand on the steps holding up the only finger they know how to count on, grinning and smugly smirking cause they know they can literally ghet away with murder.
