Having read some of that smelly mooncup thread, I will never be anything other than a tampon girl myself.

SPsCliffingAllOverMN · 08/06/2013 16:58

Worra You aren't wrong!

I just find the idea of them creepy. I put a cup in the cupboard under the stairs when it leaks to collect the water. I wont treat myself that way.

"I put a cup in the cupboard under the stairs when it leaks to collect the water. "

Grin

best mooncup euphemism ever!

NettoSuperstar · 08/06/2013 17:01

My Mum kept on and on at me to use tampons, telling me about her friend's DD's who did and they were so much better etc.
I sat on the loo for hours, hurting myself trying to get them in and couldn't.

I'm 35 now and use, and love my mooncup.

DD is 11, has had periods for well over a year and uses towels, because that's what she wants.
I'd never pressure her to insert anything into her vagina.

MammaTJ · 08/06/2013 17:02

I offered to buy my 18 year old DD a mooncup, she declined. Her fanjo, her choice.

rainbowslollipops · 08/06/2013 17:06

I think it was a good idea. She obviously doesn't like pads & a mooncup is simular in the respect of inserting so she might like to try something different.

AtYourCervix · 08/06/2013 17:12

No pressure. Just thought I'd get one so she can see if she wants to. Same as I have bought 4000 brands of towel and tampon so they can work out what suits best.

But the environmentalist in me hopes it suits.

I'm 22, and I'm rather horrified at the thought.

I'm not a virgin, either, but I'd pretty much guarantee that a mooncup would not fit inside me.

I thought they were after childbirth? I really can't see how you'd get it up there otherwise. Or back out.

AtYourCervix · 08/06/2013 17:16

Smaller than a penis Caja.

WorraLiberty · 08/06/2013 17:17

I can see where you're coming from OP...regarding your reasons.

But rather than leave it in a strategic place on her bed, why not talk to her about it?

CajaDeLaMemoria · 08/06/2013 17:17

Maybe I saw some kind of giant promotional mooncup...

Although perhaps you have a point and I'm just a bit odd.

It's probably the second one Blush

WorraLiberty · 08/06/2013 17:21

Maybe I saw some kind of giant promotional mooncup...

With sexy blonde models draped all over it? Grin

CrazyOldCatLady · 08/06/2013 17:35

I thought they were after childbirth? I really can't see how you'd get it up there otherwise. Or back out.

Just what sort of gaping chasm do you think you're left with after childbirth?! It springs back you know. Anyway if it were that roomy down there, surely neither a tampon nor a mooncup would stay up there?

I don't use either, by the way, despite being 33 and having two children. I just can't get my head around the insertion of sanitary products at all.

noisytoys · 08/06/2013 17:42

Lol at the thought of a giant promotional mooncup!!

My fanjo is averagely sized I guess and I only use a mooncup now (with a basics pantyliner for the heaviest day too) it refused my San pro bill from £5 a month to 20p every 3 months!!

StillInBigKnickers · 08/06/2013 17:46

I bought one and hated it.

pumpkinsweetie · 08/06/2013 17:48

Never tried one and i don't think i eer would-sounds messy and i don't like tampons so defo wouldn't wear a mooncup. Can't see how it would be comfortable for a teen?

SPsCliffingAllOverMN · 08/06/2013 17:50

Why would you stick a cup in yourself?

The idea freaks me out. I have an imagine of them which isn't nice Grin

AtYourCervix · 08/06/2013 17:51

A 17 year old vagina is much the same as a 38 year old one. Really it is.

OP posts:
AtYourCervix · 08/06/2013 17:52

SP. Much easier, cleaner and more comfortable than a tampon.

OP posts:
AtYourCervix · 08/06/2013 17:54

If mooncup employed me to evangelise about their product maybe they'd give me a massive demo model. That'd look good on the sideboard.

OP posts:
SPsCliffingAllOverMN · 08/06/2013 17:54

Question about mooncups.

Can they be coughed out/pushed out like some people find with tampons?

Not me obviously. I'm asking for a friend of course

HoneyDragon · 08/06/2013 17:56

My dd decided to stick a crayon up her fanjo. I interveneved. And would do so again. Grin

SPsCliffingAllOverMN · 08/06/2013 17:58

But is she 17 honey Grin

Kneedeepindaisies · 08/06/2013 17:58

My vagina is nothing like it was at 17. I'm now 32.

I don't even know what a Mooncup looks like. I imagine those little face masks that builders use over their mouths when its a bit dusty.

SoupDragon · 08/06/2013 17:58

Smaller than a penis Caja.

And considerably smaller than a baby's head
