Flew to Turkey today. Baby nearly 9 months mostly FFing now with a breastfeed in morning and evening. Two dark green seedy nappies today really smelly. Only diff food was an Ella s yoghurt pouch dark purple in colour. Only had water fro home no foreign tap water. Baby is teething and has had a couple of back to back colds. Could this cause jt? Or swimmingIIn salt water pool? Sorry on phone.

Babies do weird poo when teething. Coupled with a dark coloured foodstuff would quite possibly give the results you decribe IME. Baby otherwise well?

How does baby seem in her/himself? That would dictte what I did. Temp? Crying? Happy? Eating? Drinking?

If seems generally OK keep giving plenty of fluids. If not seek help.

The teething could well be causing it. My DD's nappies are foul when she is teething and are a green colour and seedy like you described. They also smell quit sour.

My DC2 had a couple of green seedy poos, think it is due to bile. Travel also seemed to give them an upset tummy and diarrhoea. If you are still BFing I would step that up while you are away as it will keep your LO hydrated. Make sure you get plenty of water to drink yourself xx

Thanks. Great form until bedtime as usual eating well drooling madly that's why I think teething. Quite hot but prob due to hot weather and teeth. Very disrupted sleep due to middle of night flight. Reassuring some of you had similar experience s thanks sound asleep will keep an eye.

Any blueberries? My DD did weird seedy poos when she first ate them and freaked me out a bit.

MeNeedShoes · 07/06/2013 09:14

No blueberries :) seems to be in good form this morning.

Personally, I have a 2 year old with allergies. Some effect his skin (hives swelling, anaphylaxis) and the milder ones effect his gut (stomach pain, green acidic selling mucousy nappies).

I dont know if you have fed her something that her tummy isnt liking, or she just has a bug.

Both my ds did greeny foul smelling poos on and off from around 4 - 10months, with ds1 it was more constant, got it investigated by GP but all was fine. Doctor put it down to teething.
Am sure your baby will be fine if she seems ok otherwise. X

Thanks. Another stinker of a nappy dark brown but sour, no seeds, hint of green (sorry for TMI lol). Otherwise good form eating well etc. Suspecting a combo of teeth / early plane / two bottles close together on plane / yoghurt for lunch (normally turns up nose at yogurt so I was pleased when it was wolfed down!)

Thanks MNers.
