It is the woman in the white Ford Transit van who passed me (cyclist) on the road yesterday, stopped and screamed back at me at the very top of her voice (you know the sort of screaming where you are kind of vomiting the words out like in The Exorcist) out of her window:

"You stopped in the middle of the fucking road you fucking fat fucking cunt fucking bitch"

She is clearly very stressed and living on the edge. Poor love. Please send her some healing/calming vibes.

Blimey, I'm stressed just reading that! That's a lot of aggression!! Hope you're okay OP?

TigOldBitties · 06/06/2013 20:12

With love from London I presume! Grin

EggsMichelle · 06/06/2013 20:13

Maybe she needs a seat on the bus?

Mintyy · 06/06/2013 20:14

Yes, I'm fine thank you. There was absolutely no kind of danger to cyclist or van driver. She was just one angry lady. Scary to think there are people like that going about their business.

SirBoobAlot · 06/06/2013 20:15

I often think similar things about cyclists... Wink

I'm impressed with the amount of swear words and anger she managed to get across. Hope you smiled sweetly and waved, OP.

TigOldBitties · 06/06/2013 20:18

What did you say to her?

I hope it was Fuck Off Van Cunt

JakeBullet · 06/06/2013 20:19

Hope you blew her a kiss.....it drives them even more insane.

Mintyy · 06/06/2013 20:20

No. I took her numberplate. But what could I do with it?

OP posts:
Marcheline · 06/06/2013 20:21

I would have been completely bemused at that. What on earth...?!

I think we should find her and offer a group therapy session.

Marcheline · 06/06/2013 20:22

Well, you could call 101?

Helpyourself · 06/06/2013 20:23

Do you really think like that mintyy? Tilty head smile.
I do, particularly about aggressive drivers, but keep it under my hat. I'd much rather be the one aggressed at and shrug it off than have all that rage in me.

loveinthemist · 06/06/2013 20:39

It sounds a bit like the woman who failed to stop at the zebra crossing I was waiting at yesterday. She waved and laughed at me as she deliberately drove past. Sad way to get your kicks. There's some very odd people out there.

SybilRamkin · 06/06/2013 20:46

Eek, scary! What a very odd woman. You could report her, but to be honest I'd shrug it off and just be happy she left without running you over!

I bet this was in London! I cycle to work every day and it's astonishing the amount of road rage I witness.

Mintyy · 06/06/2013 20:48

Yes, helpyourself, my reaction honestly was one of pity! How I would hate to live with that sort of anger in me.

But at the same time, I was a tiny bit narked because a less robust person could have been at the receiving end of her extreme disproportionate foul-mouthed rage. Or a more volatile person could have been at the receiving end of it and there might have been a full-on road rage incident.

It was in London, but in the very quietest suburbs of the dreamy part of SE London. Infact on a cul de sac on a housing estate. Not your Oxford Street or anything!

OP posts:
marriedinwhiteagain · 06/06/2013 21:00

Well there are some very odd types about on SE London housing estates. Was she someone you knew already and might have upset without realising? Not nice to swear like that in public though, whatever the circumstances.

HollyBerryBush · 06/06/2013 21:05

That's a lot of rage for a cul de sac.

Although, I had dreams of a snow plough on my car today, to ram raid the feckless, meandering, wobbly fella who had a complete inability to cycle in the kerb, and not keep wafting out in front of me over to the while central line every time I wanted to step on the gas up to 5mph and over take him. But I decided it was nice summers day and someone else would probably do my dirty work for me in the ever lengthening queue behind me.

VinegarDrinker · 06/06/2013 21:07

I try to think like this about aggressive drivers. It usually takes me a few deep breaths to manage it, though.

Got a wanker sign made at me today on the nursery run, whilst cycling perfectly legitimately down a road which is one way for cars but has a bike contraflow.

I wouldn't have minded but my two year old is in a front mounted seat with a great view of oncoming drivers, and is a rather sharp cookie so I had to mumble some nonsense about the driver waving to us.

Sparrowlegs248 · 06/06/2013 22:34

Blimey! That is some serious road rage!! Agree though, it could have been directed at someone less able to shrug it off. Or someone equally rage filled....

LisaExpress · 06/06/2013 23:08

Blooming heck there are some very cross people about. I drove the wrong way in the car park at Mothercare and a man offered to smash my face "you silly fucking bitch." I thought "now what would the Queen Mother have done?" and gave him a serene and cheery wave.Grin

thebody · 06/06/2013 23:20

I had a bloke ask me to wind down my window as I was parked waiting for dd to come from the shop. It was dark so kept my head lights on.

I thought he needed help but he spat at me and called me 'a fucking bitch who had blinded him with my lights'!!!!

He then kicked my car.

I lost my temper, got out and screamed the place down accusing him of assaulting me.

The entire tesco express emptied and he was grabbed by 2 make customers. He was shit scared. It was fantastic.

Told the men to let him go which they did with a well aimed kick at his leg.

He ran for it and my day was made. Serve him right.

Op she was a bully hiding in her van. Hand her number to the police and say she abused you and threatened you.

They may visit her.

LadyBeagleEyes · 06/06/2013 23:26

That's awful thebody.
I'm glad people came out and helped you.

thebody · 06/06/2013 23:32

Thanks lady,

hope you are ok op, its actually such a shock to meet people like this.

ErrorError · 06/06/2013 23:35

My cyclist friend was cut up by an inconsiderate woman driver who practically forced my friend to cycle on the wrong side of the rode in order to pass her, as other cars were backed up behind, (a small narrow village road.) And then started shouting obscenities at him. So my friend popped her wing mirror in and cycled on! A tad ill-advised, but I chuckled at the deliverance of instant karma. He's got more guts than I would have!

Monty27 · 06/06/2013 23:35

Are drivers outside London really nice then?
